1. Because of the lack
of any clues in this case, I'm assuming an "inside job" of some kind....although it baffles me at the moment....

2. I wish someone would ask about the front door...
Why was it left unlocked? Was it just that night or do they always leave it unlocked?

I haven't heard this angle being pursued, but I might have missed it.

13. I guess I've never lived anywhere where I felt *that* comfortable...
Especially with a child on board.

3. I think someone took her/killed her and this person knew her.
I think it's either her Dad or Grandfather. I know I heard that there were NO SIGNS OF FORCED ENTRY which means it's someone who knows the setup of the house and had access. The first thing that came to my mind when I heard this case is "she knew her attacker/Killer/Kidnapper. Time will tell

Waiting for the IMPEACHMENT WHILE THE SCANDALS KEEP UNFOLDING.

4. Speaking as a former cop, I'm not sure what's going on.
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 02:27 PM by Cuban_Liberal
While not infallible, her father passed both a voice-stress analysis and a polygraph, and her grandfather has passed the voice-stress analysis (polygraph later this week). I'm en ex-cop, and I know what the percentages are in cases like this, BUT the fact that grandpa passed at least one test and dad passed both would tend to lead me to discount-- not exclude-- either being involved. I would be looking at other family members, neighbors and close friends VERY hard.

9. Ex - LEO here too!
Agree with your post. Door was unlocked so there was no need for forced entry. But, it doesn't look like a stranger abduction to me. I'm not looking as hard at dad and grandpa (but not ruling them out)but it's someone familiar to the girl/family.

5. I smell a rat....
I think the adults never put Jessica in bed that night.... I don't think her dad had anything to do with it though.

12. I think it was someone she or the family knew
Then again, I thought of Elizabeth Smart when I heard about this. I have 4 inside dogs and I can't imagine anyone sneaking into my home - they are the best alarm system money can buy. Even if they knew the intruder they would make noise greeting him.

14. Question about bloodhounds
They brought in bloodhounds today. Is it too late? Shouldn't they have had the bloodhounds almost immediately? The dogs are good, but are they THAT good? This sure is a puzzler, and Elizabeth Smart is also the first thing that came to mind for me.

16. It is very baffling.
I think the skeptics in all of us would conclude, rightly or wrongly that a family member did it, but remember that Sabrina Aisenberg case a few years ago? The family was crucified in the press and then it turns out a year or so ago that there HAD been break-ins in the neighborhood that the police apparently didn't connect to the kidnapping.

In one sense, I hope it is an inside job. I have three kids and knowing that there isn't yet another predator out there will help me sleep better. On the other hand, if it is a family member, where did they take her? And, please God, keep her safe.
