Deputies Allow Thompson's Son To Drape Scarf Over His Shoulders

ASPEN, Colo. -- Hunter S. Thompson's body was found seated in a chair in the kitchen in front of his typewriter, where the word "counselor" was typed in the center of a page, according to sheriff's reports.

Pitkin County sheriff's Deputy Ron Ryan noted that the typed word on Thompson's typewriter was written on stationery from the Fourth Amendment Foundation, which was started to defend victims of unwarranted search and seizure, according to reports released Tuesday.

It was not immediately clear what, if any, significance the word had to Thompson or his family.

Juan Thompson found his father dead Feb. 20 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. After reporting the death of Thompson, the founder of "gonzo" journalism, Juan walked outside the Woody Creek home and fired three shotgun blasts into the air, which several deputies heard as they approached the house.

"Juan told me he had shot a shotgun into the air to mark the passing of his father," said Pitkin County Deputy Sheriff John Armstrong in his report.

Investigator Joseph DiSalvo allowed Juan Thompson to go into the kitchen alone to drape a golden orange scarf over his father's shoulders, according to Armstrong.

Winkel Thompson, Juan's wife, said the family had purchased the silk scarf in Florence, Italy, and gave it to Hunter Thompson the night before.

"He just loved it," she said.

the article this infowars story is based on it you'll find the author was try to start a story like HST would. Gonzo journalism. He even says that is what he was trying to do. No conspiracy here.

I believe on how he EXPECTED Hunter to go - I don't have a link to the story, and I'm not registered for this site, but if you read the entire article, it should make that clear. It is not something that really happened, it is what Paul William Roberts envisioned would happen. He then goes on to say what actually did happen. That part does not show up in the link you provided, but is somewhere on DU. The way it looks in the short link provided is very misleading.
