Re: Yellow ribbon magnets
This was posted by a fellow liberal at The Indianapolis Star online politics forum:

"I love the yellow ribbons. As I was driving down Shadeland the other day, an SUV cut me off badly,
missing my bumper by a foot. As it was, I only avoided a collision because I spotted his yellow ribbon
just in the nick of time. Realizing he was likely to pull that bonehead maneuver, I was able to brake
pre-emptively. I wish all conservatives would proudly display those yellow ribbons on their vehicles
as a sort of "impaired driver" signal to the rest of us."

2. I've seen several yellow-ribbon liberals

I think it is wrong for you to assume that everyone with a yellow ribbon on their car is a conservative. I live in Las Vegas and I've seen many cars with pro-liberal/anti-bush stickers on their cars adjacent to a yellow ribbon. Supporting the troops is not a monopoly that the right-wing has over us. The yellow ribbon are not for Bush they're in support of our troops.

5. I'm not assuming anything...
other than that the author of this post is poking fun at
the right-wingnut readers of the right-wingnut owned
newspaper of the right-wingnut state of Indiana.

Welcome to DU!

3. Idiot identifiers!
What an astute observation, can we get all of them to wear those little flag pins too?

6. For $2.49...
they call it "supporting our troops."

It's going to take 100 of those magnets to pay for ONE veteran's co-pay for ONE year in order for each veteran to get the veteran's medical benefits they were PROMISED when they enlisted.

how much extra gas is used by soccer-mom's SUV?

11. I read somewhere that the yellow ribbons are made in
China (i think) and none of the profits are donated to the troops.

8. Where are they made?
Funny, all the ones that I've seen have been made in China.

This wouldn't fit on a bumper sticker: "If you really supported the troops you wouldn't have bought that foreign-made magnet."

"support" the troops and veterans.
