House OKs Bill on Faith-Based Jobs
WASHINGTON — The House on Wednesday approved a job-training bill that would allow faith-based organizations receiving federal funds to consider a person's religious beliefs in making employment decisions.

Under current law, religious groups that receive federal money for job-training programs must obey civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination in hiring or firing.

Passage of the bill, on a largely party-line vote of 224-200, came a day after President Bush (news - web sites) told a group of religious leaders that he would attempt to institute the faith-based employment policies through an executive order if Congress did not approve them this year.

Either you're a religion or a business. Pick one.

4. Republicans are intent on destroying America.
It's that simple.

And BTW, in terms of framing... let's see if we can get away from this "faith-based" meme. It's religion-based.

Ask someone if they support "faith-based funding" and they'll probably say yes.

Ask them if they support giving taxpayer money to religions... well, maybe a few of 'em will stop and think for a moment.

:)

5. Absolutely TAX these "christian" impersonaters
Any organization using tax money generated by ALL the people has absolutely no right to discriminate in a job training program.

Wait until some nasty evangelical program tries to tell some Mormon or a Muslim they can't be trained - that law could be declared unconstitutional pretty fast!

As for gays, I've long thought it's past time we started picketing these churches and challenging them to prove they really have a "christian" lifestyle. . .because we know it's nothing but a cover for evil.
