Harry Reid just called Greenspan "one of the biggest political hacks
in Washington." This on CNN.

Also said, "The president has never seen a crisis he didn't create."

And used the terminology "destroy" when describing what the Republicans want to do with SS.

as a "permanent fix" to soc sec.... knowing the govt is using it every year.

He is just as repsosnible as anyone.

27. Read Chaps 7 and 8 of "Perfectly Legal" by David Cay Johnston
and you find 'ol Greenspan in charge of paying for Reagan's 1981 tax cuts via a drummed up scare in Social Security ! Fast forward to 2001 and a new batch of tax cuts for the richest 1 and 1/2 % of taxpayers (those making over $3 million/yr plus corporation 'globalizers' who outsource jobs and capital for tax breaks) and you see that Joe Sixpack is being stuck with deficits as far as the eye can see with nothing in return..

In fact corporations are stripping workers of pension and healthcare benefits...

Who is going to pay for this ? We need to hold globalizing corporations and the wealthiest (who hide their incomes from taxation while the 'rest of us' have our payroll income reported directly to the IRS) accountable. You'd think those who benefit the most from our democracy would want to gladly pay their fair share.

"You can have great wealth or a democracy, but you cannot have both" - Louis Brandeis

4. Judy Woodruff was interviewing Reid on CNN's Inside Politics
When Woodruff quoted Greenspan as supporting private accounts, Harry Reid said that he' has NEVER been a fan of Greenspan and said he voted twice against confirming Greenspan, then called him a political hack.

Daschle disappointed me on an almost weekly basis. I hope I'm not being too optimistic, seeing some hope in Reid...

He only raised his voice when his honor had been somehow miraculously insulted.

22. CNN's morning show just endorsed Greenspan
on that stupid couch talk they do, with Jack Cafferty, Bill Hemmer today out of the blue said something like, Alan Greenspan is the best thing in government.

Kudos to Reid for informing CNN viewers that Greenspan is NOT God, despite CNN's shilling for him.

so sacrosanct. I know nothing about economics, but it seems like his word is always taken as Gospel.

29. He is a hack
Due to his (Greenespans's) so called brilliance, he had to screw with Clinton's great economy by raising interest rates which slowed it down.

The fact that he thinks he can manage such a complex system is proof of his arrogance.

30. Reid should be the main show on stage...Biden, Hillary, Lieberman should
shut up and let Reid deliver a disciplined message, without their going off the reservaton, muddying issues like SS and Syria.

I'm going to call his office tomorrow and deliver that message....hope others will do so, too
