certainly proves that, not only your outstanding Executive Editor, but many others in your great organization of immense journalistic talent deserve to be included in this historic award which he now shares in the year 2005 with Bush Jr., Wolf Blitzer of CNN, Howard Kurz of the Washington Post, Jeff Gannon aka James Guckert of Talon News, the new Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, the new Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and many other such great stalwarts of "Democracy and the Rule of Truth and Law" of previous years.

1. I agree with you

but I suspect they're impervious to sarcasm.

I've been getting solicitations from them to subscribe, and I've been trying to draft a reply that would say "Thanks for the offer, but what you have to sell is no longer all the news that's fit to print: either it's not new news, or it's not true news. You folks no longer even pretend to investigate anything, you just troll the corridors of power for leaks, and print them verbatim, and never correct anything. Why should I pay for the privilege of reading administration lies?"

But I need to rewrite that in a more fair and balanced manner.

I'm tapped out on letters since the election (I wrote several before then). I appreciate anyone who takes the time to write one now, sarcasm or no sarcasm.
