Look the guy straight in the face and ask "You can't seriously believe this is some kind of gay recruiting video, do you?" Just reductio ad absurdum the guy until he gives in.

4. Ask him what he intends to do instead

The video is intended to teach tolerance and community. It sounds like he thinks the community need it, since he predicts that parents might be upset by this particular video.

Ask him if he's seen it. If he has, ask him particularly what in the video he thinks might upset parents. Ask him if he's had any comments from parents about it. Get him to invite a group of random parents to preview the video and give him input about it and how they think it would go over in your community. If all that doesn't get through to him, then ask him what kind of tolerance program he intends to put on in place of the video. Insist that he not allow tacit approval of homophobia.

The people who lied about this video will win if we don't push to show parents that there is nothing wrong with it. If people don't see the video, they will never understand how ridiculous the campaign against it is.
