I wish the Daily Show could quit having corporate asskissers on
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 01:44 AM by Melodybe
as guests, Jon is great but enough, bring me Al Franken, Howard Stern, Micheal Moore, Jeneane, or any celebrity, just enough of the Corporate Whores.

I know they have to, but damn lets get some cool liberals on.

1. I wonder why they don't
That would be cool to have one of them on. At least Franken. He could promote his book.

2. He might as well be on one of the regular channels if he is going to
continue to have this kind of corporate guest. I agree...he should have a better array of more progressive guests.

3. No, This is Good
it gives him a wider audience and more credibility. He's much more effective with a mix of guests than as a purely left-wing show.

4. Oh I know, I understand that they walk a fine line, but its
been a while since they had a really great guest, Jim Wallis and Desmond Tutu were a while ago.

Make no mistake I LOVE THE DAILY SHOW, I just am longing for better guests more often.

15. Well, That's True
the mix has been skewed to the right since the election. I suspect part of it is that Jon feels a difference of opinion makes for a better interview. And bringing in other viewers is one of the most important things he can do. The Daily Show point of view is irresistable. He needs eyeballs.

5. a 'regular' show would not show Porter Goss, again and again..
....doing a total double-take when, while he's standing next to bush, as bush declares we're searching all over the world for Osama Bin Laden.

the look on Goss' face was one of total puzzlement -- "We are?" and Stewart could not keep himself from cracking up.

ain't gonna see that on The View.

6. I know, I know
I feel shame for complaining.

Still would be nice to have people I liked on every night instead of people that make my stomache churn.

Edited to add: Besides book releases, people come on to push new movies, or TV shows.

whining about The Daily Show.

It's a comedy show with a pretty damn big audience, not our personal propaganda outlet.

8. Look, I have nothing but love for every person that works for the Daily
Show, I am totally allowed to hate some of the shit heads that come on their showif I want to.

Trust me, I have loved Jon Stewart since I was 15(i'm 27), please don't take it the wrong way.

If Jon kissed repub ass when they came on, then I would be complaining. Jon grills them more than anyone else out there, for that I would take a bullet for him.

Lighten up, I just haven't liked a lot of their political guests lately, thats all.

We all LOVE and respect the Daily Show, good lord where would we be without it?

It has been 30 mintues of the red pill since 2000.

9. Hating the shitheads is encouraged...
it's just that sometimes it looks like a whine at first glance.

(There's a lot of that around here.)

12. You forgot that Jon Stewart is "hurting America"
That little phrase was used in the titles of two (2) anti Daily Show threads started within the last 3 days. (Did you miss the memo?)

Why don't you write the Daily Show with your concerns?

13. My thread title wasn't
'John Stewart IS hurting America'. My thread title was 'John Stewart helps to hurt America?'

Note the question mark

14. Yes, a good interview is like a single hershey's kiss for dessert
after a good meal.. well, chocolate lovers would understand. But at the end of a delightful show, when he has someone like Howard Zinn or Howard Dean on for 5 minutes, it's so satisfying.

16. Exactly, that was what I was trying to say...
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 03:20 PM by Melodybe
Anyone that is saying Jon Stewart is hurting AMerica, obviously has not read America the book, and has never read any of the articles or interviews with him.

Jon is my hero, I never meant for this thread to be dissing the Daily Show, I just was missing the hersheys kiss at the end is all.

Oh yeah and I hate Brian Williams.
