5. We wish.
There is a large majority of public opposition to SS 'reform', and it's getting stronger the more Bushco push it. But Dems will not fight for it unless the public is 100% unanimous against it. As long as one Repuke is still standing and might call them mean names, the Dems will quietly hide in the closet.

6. your prediction is contrary to the present facts
The dems' fighting privitization from the start has caused public support to drop sharply in a short time (I think it was 9% in 3 weeks for the Gallup poll).

There is far from 100% opposition to privitization, and the dems are fighting hard. No one's hiding. Who's hiding in what closet?

2. not since the Democrats have become Repuke lite
in order to try and win more seats

they're screwing GLBTs, women, and yesterday, they helped screw over people in order to help the big credit card companies

3. Unite completely?
That's unlikely--but they are holding pretty firm on Social Security so far. I mean Liebermann is showing signs of weakening--but most are standing pretty firm against this Phase out Scheme.

4. The best way to unite a broadly diverse population...
...is against a common enemy.

8. Just one problem
They can't seem to agree on who or what that common enemy may be.

Senator Reid calls Greenspan a "hack", and in my opinion he has a point. Now, do the other democrats back their senate leader, no, they either blast Reid like Joe Enablerman, or they dance around the question, or they find a rock to hide under until the storm has passed.

It seems to me that the enemy has already infiltrated the democratic
side of Congress, get rid of the internal enemies first, then they can concentrate on the external ones.

11. They crumble easily-especially when there are home state interests.
TO not insist that credit card companies change their predatory tactics is inexcusable.
