Hard to believe, I know, but I just today watched "Going Upriver" and
I think there is much for EVERYONE to learn, to emulate, and to coopt for a modern day effort.

What they did was one of the most effective protests ever against government policies.

It also proves what scummy liars the Swiftvets for Bush are.
As if the official Naval records weren't enough to destroy their credibility.

2. Doesn't it just break your heart?
I don't think I can stand to watch it again post-election. That scene at the end of the protest where he's sitting in the grass with his wife..... What a good man, I still can't believe he's not our president.....

4. Yes. It also proves that those who accused him of doing it
for political gain and personal glory are full of shit. He had the entire powerstructure out to destroy him and ruin any political future for him.

He endured it anyway, Just like he did with IranContra and BCCI. He took on the biggest power in the US.

6. We just walked out of a gun store...
we were minding our own business, trying to buy a $500 skeet shotgun, when the guy starting racking on how it was a "bush" store, hating Hillary, and, get ready for this: he said Kerry only went to Viet Nam for a few days with a movie camera and never fought. He said he bought his medals. He denied that bush was awol and kept repeating it was a bush store. Thank goodness my cerebral vessels are sturdy or I would have had a stroke. We took our money and left. Jeezzzzzz.

7. Geez. THAT is what the media set out to accomplish. Dumb 'em down enough
to make it easier for the corporate elite to sell them ANYTHING, including fascist totalitarianism..

8. Prophetic ....
movie I thought at the time as to WHO was better qualified to lead our country at election time, with the Iraqi situation and all. Wish more people would have seen it then. But still recomended if you can get your hands on it. I remember not being able to rent it ANYWHERE before the election, even though it was out on DVD like a month before. That chapped my hide. I found an independent theater showing it back then, but they were far and few between. Tragic it didn't get the airplay it deserved.

9. Yes. And it did give a great sense of deja vu. Another imperial presidency
using its powers to deceive the public and lie about John Kerry and his work.
