Who the hell came up with the term "partial birth abortion"?
Are they suggesting that the abortion happens when the fetus is hanging partially outside of the woman's body? That would be partial birth, wouldn't it? lol

2. that's exactly what they're trying to imply
distorting truth never bothers them, and playing games with definitions also never bothers them. unless a democrat does it, of course.

7. May I ask a question? Where did that painting come from?
I wonder what would happen if that painting was replaced with the paintings there now in all churches across the US. Do you think people would be upset because it doesn't have blonde hair and blue yes?

Sorry, more than 1 question.:-)

8. It was called "late term abortion" for years until the rightwing
convinced the media to take up "partial-birth"....They obviously control the dialogue.

11. It came from the place where they come up with bullshit phrases
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 06:10 PM by rzemanfl
like "compassionate conservative" "no child left behind" and such.

We should call Bush's Social Security plan "partial death retirement" and his bankruptcy changes the "partial servitude debt adjustment plan." We could call the GI's that lose a body part and go back to Iraq "an army of 97/100ths" and the basket cases they keep hidden at Walter Reed "disabled veterans (partial)."

Well not really.

But as you can see language is a powerful tool to paint the picture of the agenda you wish to push.

13. Another right-wing distortion
Like "pro-life" instead of anti-abortion. It happened during Newt Gingrich's era, I think.

They are SO damned good at reframing issues to their benefit... Grrrrr it angers me!
