Boston Legal shows Faux/Bushco News as right wing
with a clear leaning to the far-right rather than the truth. It also mentions the flick "Outfoxed" which shows the GOP corporate message to overrule any fair and balanced reporting of the facts.

1. I thought that was cancelled or something.
Did they mention the name "Fox News?" Do tell if you saw it, because I don't watch TV... except the Daily Show and some sci-fi. ;)

4. They were so specific that there was no doubt that it was Faux
They even mentioned "Outfoxed" in reference to the media outlet where the message was to cast the ideology of the right wing not the facts. They also called the courtroom a "no spin zone" and stated that the media outlet in question called anyone who dared to speak against the president as "a traitor and unAmerican".

11. Outfoxed was not only mentioned
but a couple of clips were shown during the episode.

I watched The Practice when it was a new series, but, lost interest when the show became a bunch of screaming fights. I began watching it again during the last season when James Spader was introduced. His character became the central character to the spin off, Boston Legal.

The list of actors on the show is fabulous - James Spader; William Shatner and Denny Crain, one of the leaders of the firm; Candice Bergen as another lead partner; Betty White as James Spader's secretary - Betty White's character is a royal bitch - an updated Sue Ann Nivens. She's great! One other actor is Mark Valley. He's cute is a clean cut overly conservative type of way - I wish they'd do more with his character.

3. Boston Legal is a spin off of the Practice
It's great!! They get a good "liberal zinger" in every show. My favorite is James Spader saying he said a quick prayer and someone said "you pray?" and he said "In America it's the law now".

14. Haha, that is great - I'm vocally agnostic so my friends should
get a kick out of it when I use that line.

What tone of voice do you think would be best?

8. This was a great show
Last night they weren't permitted to Say "FOX" or "O'Rielly" but they got the point across and did a nice plug for Outfoxed.

they even got a dig in for "scripted dramas on television" being censored...

and Spader is always cool..

9. I love Boston Legal!
One of the few mainstream shows I watch regularly (the other being Lost). The show is always full of clever writing about current happenings. I was just chortling over the little digs at media that they were slipping in on last night's episode.

10. Boston Legal..
... is one of the best written dramas on television. It is highly topical, and though there is a clear liberal bent, it does not take the easy "we are always right" approach.

Last night was amazing, it was about student who challenged a high school principal who was blocking Fox from the school.

The debate was vigorous on both sides but the kid won his suit. The closing argument for the plaintiff (the kid) was that news in America is merely entertainment, and it's all about the dollars. An argument I've made here many times :)

13. Thanks. Flying over the Atlantic and still suffering from jet lag
I fell asleep in the middle. But thought that it was poking fun at the "fair and balance" news outlet. Also, when it just started, the "Denny Crane" character, who is proud to be a "red stater" at least in his support, said how "we" are one justice away from eliminating the Bill of Rights.
