Who owns the Chimp's carrier footage?
Was the press there, or was it a WH video crew? If it's public domain, or at least can be purchased, the Dems need to start running it in their TV spots, hammering the 'post-war' casualty figures and faulty intel. If we can get the public to associate the carrier footage with the burgeoning quagmire in Iraq, there's no way Rove can use it in November. Thoughts? Comments?

1. Could backfire
'Thugs in their infinite gullibility revere that footage as the Second Coming of God. We need some more uranium-type breakthroughs first--but it's a good idea

2. It's my PR background talking.
"get in front of an issue" and all that. I think you're right. But, I'm guessing the Niger stuff is just the tip o' the proverbial iceberg. Now that the long dormant press seems to be waking, I have a feeling there'll be plenty more before next November.

3. If it's not public domain
then I want my tax money back. We own it all, including the "Mission Accomplished" sign.

I'd rather it be run by a front group than by the DNC, however.

4. I would guess both were there

At the very least Dapier (sp?) would have been there doing the still photos.

Either way, anything on www.whitehouse.gov from the event, would be public domain.

Oops, finally fixed link

5. Yes, but source outside partisan orgs to avoid backfires
I think the poster who said DNC should NOT carry it is absolutely right. Let an outside organization run it, and then we can all agree. If we start the attack ads, there will be endless hypocrisy about the "dirty" Dems etc. Of course, if the Republicans are foolish enough to run it.... :)

6. Agreed. But I want that footage to be rendered useless.
To paraphrase Men in Black, "A person is smart. People are dumb." I worry that Joe Sixpack, who isn't any way near rich enough to vote GOP, will see that shit and vote for the Chimp because "the USA kicks ass!"

7. I don't agree. I think that footage is priceless.
I said so at the time. I think he looked stupid and that is why every whore in the media got talking points to say how manly he looked. Did you notice how they all said the same thing ?

And now with the casualty list growing each day, he looks not only stupid but arrogant and insensitive. I think we can us this to great advantage, whoever is the nominee.
