I pass on reading that crack pot's book. And he can go straight to hell while he's at it.

I love Big Mac, and I can't believe Canseco is screwing him over. I remember with bittersweetness the days of the "Bash Brothers." Canseco has tarnished that memory.

2. I've got a lot more to worry about than steroids in baseball.... |
|
...and I'm really pissed that Congress wants to waste still more taxpayer dollars by holding McCarthy-like hearings purely for the sake of grandstanding.
Steroids never killed people in the Middle East.

In the meantime women and men are getting their fucking arm and legs blown off, occasionally taking a bullet to the stomach, leg, and dying in their own pool of blood.. but other than that small, inconsequential happening over there somewhere else... 'roids and micheal jackson rule the day.

how you feel about what I said or think, The Senate, is not going to discuss the killing and maiming in Iraq. Can't you see that they, both sides, mostly, will not face the facts that we care what's happening. They want to get the media attention for baseball. I don't approve. Yes, I had much rather have their attention , trying to stop this stupid and disgraceful war, but it ain't gonna happen with the people we have leading our Country.

I haven't read the book. I personally don't care if one drug user Canseco rats out another drug user McGwire. What exactly is pure and saintly about Mark McGwire. I mean we all know he took steriod precursors.

I'm not trying to minimize the senseless killing going on overseas. Two families testified before the hearing about their children who idolized these guys, used steroids and are now dead as a result.
It's a tragedy, too.
I don't know enough about Canseco, McGuire or any of the rest of them to say whether one's better than other or worse.
What bugs me about all this is that these guys are put on pedestals for kids to worship and some of the players that have used steroids are horrible examples because they cheat.
Having said that, I'm just not convinced these hearings is the best way to go about dealing with the problem.

9. Canseco's a hero, imo. |
|
He's the only one being honest about the drug ( that it can be safe if used properly), and its use in baseball.
This is just more hysteria about drug use. If people wanna use steroids it should be up to them. What Major League Baseball decides should be their decision, not the govt's. If they wanna leave their players use, thats fine with me. They should only be illegal for someone underage.

I did a little reading on the subject and the primary thing it said was that they would have to be used safely.
The problem I have is when you take someone like McGuire or Sosa who broke long standing records. Is it fair if they used performance enhancing drugs to give them an edge? Did they really earn it if they used steroids?
In the Olympics steroid use is banned. They'll strip medals for anyone who tests positive. Are they the exception?
