anyone else catch Rumsfeld's answer to the 'where's Osama' question? |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-18-05 08:17 AM by mopaul
just caught a snippet of it yesterday on cnn, a reporter asked dear ol donald about bush's failure to capture the number one main boogie man who allegedly attacked new york city.
he bristled, snarled, and in his most enduring sneer stated something like, 'listen, let's not get all bent out of shape over weather we capture him or not, important work is being done' bullshit.
anyone got the exact quote? can't find it, but it's classic spinning over bush's greatest promise, and greatest failure: to capture the man who attacked the twin towers and bring him to justice.
rummy's dismissive answer and arrogance prove once again, that it was not Osama who attacked us, but an inside u.s. government job.
.......just saw it after i posted this...on nbc...
rummy said 'come on! we're at it---we either have him or we don't---or some other nazi answer....what a fuckhead

1. I sometimes think that OBL is the safest man on the planet because |
|
if we ever captured him many people would see that as the War on Terror being over with that being the victory
It would be that much harder to drum up support for foreign adventures if the biggest boogeyman is no longer a threat

OBL is a member of the Saudi royal family...if we were to catch him, we'd have to try, convict & execute him. Imagine what the Saudis would do then...

quite true. He is not part of the Saudi royal family. But his family is one of the royal families' most powerful supporters.

5. Funny, right after Sept 11th |

Rummie claimed that the Taliban knew exactly where Osama was. How come now that we own the place we still haven't been able to find him? Rumsfeld brushed aside an opening question stating that Afghanistan's ruling Taliban group says it does not know the whereabouts of indicted terrorist Osama bin Laden. "They know where he is," Rumsfeld asserted.
Elaborating, he said, "They know their country. They have been fighting against ... the Soviets there for years. They've been fighting among themselves and the tribes. They're hearty, tough people. They have networks throughout the country, and it is just not believable that the Taliban do not know where the network can be located and found and either turned over or expelled."http://usinfo.org/wf-archive/2001/010924/epf116.htm

9. Do you realize OBL has been at large longer than Adolf Hitler |
|
Roughly OBL at large three years six months and one week.
War was declared against Nazi Germany (and/or Vice Versa) somtime around 12/12/41. Hitler found around 4/20/45 (I'm probably not very exacting on dates tonight). Doing the math that is approx. three years four months and one week.
We had to track Hitler down and he could have been in most of Western and Central Europe not to mention North Africa with no GPS or modern telecommunication or reconnisence(sp) aircraft to track him down. In fairness he was a more visible leader than OBL. bin Laden may be in Afghanistan, Pakistan or, in a stretch, Turkey, Syria or Iraq.
Donny, you are a failure.

10. CNN Ttranscripts Link |
|
I don't have time to look it up for you but you can go to CNN trancripts and probably find it. If you know the time or day and/or show you can click on the transcript of that show for that date. Hope this helps. This is the CNN transcripts link for March 17th. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/2005.03.17.html
