Memorial Park in Houston was once a proposed drilling area |
|
The richies and other were against it.(It would not have mattered what the "others" thought if many of the oil richies were not concerned about it, also.) The proposal was defeated. Let's propose they drill there instead of in the arctic and see what happens.

1. they could have the Art Guys |
|
decorate the rigs.
Depending on your opinion of the Art Guys, this would either (a) mitigate the blight; or (b) multiply the blight.
I'm a (b) person, myself.

2. This is a very nice park in a very exclusive area of Houston (near |
|
poppy bush's old Texas residence, an apartment where he very seldom ever was and fairly close to his new residence) and it was not just the rigs people did not want. They did not want the traffic, stink and filth associated with the drilling. But not to worry, it will not effect the arctic refuge (or no rich oil people will have to live near it).

and real familiar with Memorial Park. I used to volunteer at the Arboreteum.
That's why I suggested the Art Guys as "decorators". Actually think this crazy idea could find oil AND create more weirdo "art" around Houston!
I mean, if they can find new funding for the Beer Can House (and believe it or not, this news story made the Captivate elevator news screen today at my office in San Francisco), they can drill Memorial Park AND make it "art"!
