A Question about the Steroid Hearings...and Schiavo Case |
|
I've got a question about the Schiavo case, and the hearings yesterday in the Congress regarding steroid use in MLB.
Can someone explain to me exactly what, if any, federal interest or oversight the Congress has on these issues?
Yesterday, while listening to the coverage of the steroid hearings, it occurred to me that the Congress doesn't even have oversight of that issue. They don't control Major League Baseball; they have no Congressional oversight over it. So what is the point?
And the same occurred to me today about the very sad Schiavo case. What is the federal oversight or issue here? From what I can tell, there is none!
This Congress is amazing. They have time to investigate steroids and a poor woman in a vegetative state. But no time to investigate going to war on a false premise!

Where is the NINE BILLION MISSING DOLLARS? That's something else they could look into. Or, how can we get 45 MILLION people healthcare?

We can't even get the US Congress to conduct investigations or hearings into who leaked Valerie Plame's name, why the Administration lied about the need to take us to war in Iraq, etc. These are issues where clearly there is a federal interest.
Yet, the poke their noses into cases where they have no control or oversight! And this is our hard-earned tax paying dollars at work!
People should be outraged.

Perhaps it would be the 2nd anniversary of this failed war that wasn't even necessary in the first place!
Maybe that's it! Yea, I think so! Lord help us one and all.

the mediawhores make it look proper (check out the earnest faces) and, by default, commit entire society to the let's pretend phoniness....the cud chewers look up from grazing and say 'look ma, congress is sure working hard' before returning to working on their jaws of steel....but even a few cud chewers are enough to feature ie fillup the airtime, on tv and in the press, while ignoring the 'people' bush is a petty crook.....
