what state is Wesley Clark from anyway?

I was told he's from Arkansas, but according to here:

He was born in Chicago and now lives in Virginia. That still makes him a southerner though.

His mother, Veneta Kanne Clark, from Arkansas originally, moved the family back to Little Rock where she remarried a former banker, Victor Clark.
