"Clinton-Gore has not led. We will.."
It seemed like only yesterday that the Repukes were saying things like this and "We will bring responsibility to the White House. The adults are in charge." during the 2000 Repuke Convention.

Just the opposite is true.

I know Tenet has taken the blame for the Niger uranium thing, but even before that people like Condi Rice were saying things to the effect of "It's not our fault. Intelligence cleared it."

So much for bringing responsibility to the White House. (Not that we didn't already have it during Clinton-Gore)

2. What they said was . . .
"Restore Honor, Decency and Integrity to the White House." That was one of their campaign slogans during the 2000 campaign. And what a crock of B.S. it was. ANY TIME Republicans say something like that, it seems as if the EXACT OPPOSITE is the truth. What's more, whenever they are committing some misdeed themselves, one of the ways they divert attention from their wrongdoing is to point their fingers at the other side and loudly and vociferously and repeatedly accuse THEM (i.e., liberals, Democrats) of doing it. This is one of their favorite propaganda tactics, and I've gotta hand it to them, they're sure good at it, and at getting away with it. So any time you want a clue as to what Republicans are up to, just listen to what they're saying, and it's probably just the opposite thing, and listen to what they're accusing Democrats of, and it's probably what they themselves are doing.

As for their claim that "The adults are in charge," I recall hearing this only after Bush stole the White House.

Anyway, getting back to the "Restore Honor, Decency and Integrity to the White House" nonsense, one of the things I just LOVE to do is throw right-wingers' verbiage right back at them. So, this gives me a terrific idea for a bumper sticker. I'm going to get on my computer and make a bumper sticker for the 2004 campaign that reads:

Restore Honor, Decency, Integrity
and COMPETENCE to the White House
DEFEAT BUSH IN 2004

And then, once we've accomplished this and inaugurated Dennis Kucinich (I hope) or Howard Dean or whoever on Jan. 20, 2005, we really CAN say that "the adults are back in charge."

3. The party of personal responsibility
Clinton had it right when he said (and I'm paraphrasing so give me a break): "They're all for personal responsibility until you scratch them....then they go straight to blame." Ahhhhhh....to have a REAL president again.
