Did the country figure it out?
That the GOP has been HIJACKED by Christian Fundamentalists and is OUR Taliban, or do they just look at them as WHACKED. And will that perception stay or blow over.

1. Our fundie extremists control tons of cash...
... not to mention the media.

They have more ability to massage their image than Afghanistan's Taliban, let alone Al Qaeda.

3. I think (faintly optimistic here) that they have.
I'm on DU with CNN in the background and they are *ACTUALLY* beginning to report both sides now. Don't know how long it will last. But I'm seeing some impartiality now. At least, I think, we've all been brainwashed to an extent.

4. Never
As long as ministers tell people what to think and believe, they won't realize a depression if it landed on thier homes.

7. Yer right
As soon as this little thing has cooled off, and their brainwashers have had a chance to re-program them, they'll be right back to believing that * is Christ.

6. The GOP used the right wing religious. Then they dropped their agenda
after being handed a slim majority of votes and complete control of Washington. The Right Wingers are swinging back (and Bush has to respond or risk having them 'find out' they are just chumps). For now.. the controllers have to let themselves be controlled.

Nobody told the religious right they could not have a say in the agenda. Nobody told them that they were just a convenient 'tribe' to dismantle democracy with and return it to customary law.

Do you think they are beginning to get it? I really wondered if they were when they started with the anxious remarriage plans (their own hypocrisy was shown to them by the left and they - being all light and good while the left is all darkness and black...as they mirror Bush - could not take the reality and lesson in those shades of grey).

If you want to wake up the religious right - show them the shades of grey again..and perhaps they may find the adults they once were before the Rove machine got ahold of them.
