Just a quick thought about healthcare in the US.
America's population: Around 300 million.

America's population w/o healthcare: 45 million.

Unemployment %: 5-6%

Uninsured %: 15% (45/300 = 15)

Please explain, conservative lurkers, why the uninsured who WORK don't deserve health insurance.

And, no, it's not because 'I hate America'. I assure you I don't. But I do hate aspects such as this.

1. Its not that neo-cons dont think workers shouldnt' have healthcare, its...
..that they want the money that would go to support healthcare in thier pockets, not those of the working person, or the HMO's.

Universal healthcare: thats what we need to have for everyone.

Take employers out of the equation entirely.

5. I do not see it that way. Tax payers pay for most of it but---
can not get it unless they pay even more. Look at all the money that goes into the health care that the tax payers pay and alot for our dear congressmen and President. We have the vice riding around with a full time doctor and a sort of hospital on wheels and congress is about the same. And they will sure get good care when they move to their million dollars retirement. Does any state ever run some one that will go for cutting down what these people are taking from us? No and when you are trying to pay your hospital bill do re-call the congress man is at the VIP room in Walter Reed with million dollar care and even the service man is paying a little for his care in the ward down the hall. He is usually hurt and young and the congressmen is old and being kept alive. And this is not the money spent on the back ground study of sickness and drugs.

8. Sorry.
I was echoing a common rightwinger viewpoint. It was sarcasm. I'm bad about that.

4. Meh, I hate a lot of things.
In fact, me and a few other god-hating homos are going to go out, kidnap your teenage daughters, give them birth control while simultaneously encouraging their promiscuity.

Then, when gawd gets them pregnant, possibly immaculately, we'll force them to have abortions while burning the American flag and listening to Bad Religion.

Wanna come along?

Oh, we're also going to swing by and pick up some business cards for the evil gay agenda. We got this cutest shade of pink mixed with lavender. . .

7. A Healthier Workforce Might Have The Strength to Unionize?
Or at least complain about crappy work conditions and the expectation that working to make someone else rich should come before every other consideration in life (such as having a personal life)?

Oh, and yes - you do so hate America. I can tell.
