So what is an appropriate punishment for the self-absorbed, self-righteous assholes who are disrupting the peace of the patients, family and staff of Terri Schiavo's hospice in Florida?

They have the right to protest, just like anti-war demonstrators have the right to protest.

If they're protesting peaceably, they should be allowed to protest.

At least one woman missed the end of her loved one's life because of these people. And the nearby school had to be closed for the duration. Protest away, but please be a little considerate of the innocent bystanders.

Assign them to spend just 48 hours caring for the forgotton, the poor, the miserable, and the lowly

Those who don't have someone like Michael Schiavo to fight for care.
Those who have bed sores all over their body.
Those who smell like feces and urine.

Those who are awake, responsive, and very free to complain.
Those who are conscious and depressed and in a very different emotional place than the care-provider.



Assign the high-n-mighty protesters just 48 hours of duty in that environment.

If they can keep their beliefs unchanged after that, they can keep them for life and I won't whine anymore about it.
