Chicago RW Radio Eileen Byrne

This really is directed to those that can hear WLS890 Chicago, the official ABC radio affiliate in town. I have listened to it for the as long as I can but am now at the end of my rope.
There is a host Eileen Byrne, who was unable to hold her own against Jay Marvin when they were co-hosts but has now gravitated to being the main talking head since they fired Jay. This woman makes my blood boil with her right wing mantra and everything that is good for the neo-cons.
She has spent the past few days on a roll with the Schiavo case quoting Randall Terry and these fringe groups that are about to cause mayhem if they are not reeled in.
Her last big platform was this minute man (not important enough to upper case) deal with the vigilantes going to patrol the borders. She totally supports these modern day brown shirts.
What has happened to these children of immigrants. Byrnes mother is Irish and the mother of that other right wing nut Malkin was born in the Philippines. Being conservative is one thing. Being far right is dangerous.
Anyone else hear Byrne and decide to stop listening to her?

7. Jay's Back In Denver

Yep...this station that once had Marvin, Garry and Mike Malloy is down to Nate Clay as the lone voice of reason on that waste of electrons. They've long been removed from my pre-sets (sad, since WLS always was a part of my life going back to the 60's) and I'm either listening to Public Radio (Wisconsin Public Radio is prefered) and hoping for Air America to start up on 1690AM sometime within the week.

There's a lot of games going on at that station...a revolving door of managers and each "evolution" means more neanderthals on that vapid station.

8. Jay gets fired periodically

The only person I would ever listen to on WLS now-a-days in is David Jennings.

As for Gary Meier, that guy hasn't been funny in the 25 years I've listened to him. I'd rather listen to Dahl on WCKG anyday.

2. Byrne's just disgusting, always was.

Whenever I catch a whiff of her as I round the dials, I put on my best little girl voice and say "why do the democrats hate America?'

If she didn't have a sneer, she'd have nothing at all. Knows nothing, thinks nothing, just rips off all the talking points from all the other RW shows and spits them out. Remove half my brain and all my pride and I could do her show.

3. Geez, why do you subject yourself to such shit?

I mean really now, why? I'm all for dropping in on the occaissonal RW puke fest on hate radio, just in the spirit of knowing what the enemy is doing. But subjecting yourself to this shit on a regular basis isn't healthy for you, your blood pressure goes up, stress goes up, heart rate rises, etc.

Take a break, listen to something soothing and mild, and listen to hate radio only once in a great while. Otherwise you'll go crazy from the RW madness.

4. She's an infant, and an ignoramus to boot....

I wrote in so often--she never should have been promoted to begin with. But Disney knew what they wanted in Chicago and they destroyed a once fairly balanced station, with a rich history. The list of walking wounded is long and sad, including Jay, who literally jumped through hoops to stay.

Disgusting.

Still LOVE Nate Clay, midnights on Saturdays, the lone survivor. (Some say David Jenner--don't listen too often, but have yet to see their point.)

Now--tell me again--just WHEN is AAR going to be returning to this blue town? And what will it still look like when it does?!

5. Eileen Byrne

She is a whiny little sh*t and so is is that other malcontent ,Terry O'Brien. I can't believe that so many people of Irish extraction have these ultra right wing views when it flies in the face of what transpired in their own ancestral home.
That Byrne,Hannity and O'Reilly all espouse these puritanical views of the far right is akin to the people of the nationalist areas of Northern Ireland being pro Ian Paisley.

6. WLS is still on the air?

After they shit-canned Nancy Skinner and Jennings and Jeffords started sounding ReTHUG-Lite, I'd rather hurt my ears trying to hear Randi from Cincinati than put up with Freeper Radio, even if it IS "Armchair copy".

9. I used to listen to WLS, carefully picking my times,

but last year when they had mega-irritating Teri O'Brien on mornings it was too much to chance stumbling onto it. Had to unprogram it from the dial. Eileen Byrne was the one given Ski & Skinner's Saturday shift when Henry Hyde's folks leaned on the station to fire them.
Byrne is just plain dumb. She can fake the glib patter but there's no higher brain activity.

Is Jake Hartford still on WLS? If Jake and Eileen had a battle of wits, neither would be able to navigate out of his/her corner.

11. Byrne

Is that true that Ski and Skinner got axed because of political pressure? If it is it would explain why Jay Marvin was ousted to allow Byrne to have her solo show. I really don't listen to her, but when I do happen to accidently get her on the dial it takes only a few moments for her to irritate me, with her snickering in the background (A prerequisite for right winger pundits to grasp)when interviewing someone she disagrees with.

The they added Hannity in, on top of Rush! Then Chicago's own "Toyko Rose" Teri O'Brien.

Made me CRAZY!! They just didn't care that they broadcast in a blue, blue, Blue, BLUE state!!
