Let him live on a respirator as long as his mind is alert. It will give him plenty of time in a prone position to think about his life.

It is evident from the ramblings of Falwell since the early 1980s that he has been in a "Persistent Vegetative State of Religious Confusion".
Obviously the respirator should be unplugged. (He also obviously will not need a feeding tube for quite some time.)

If he has a living will or his family agrees to it. Otherwise, let's not go there. We already have a circus at one hospice, we don't need another one at a hospital.

for as LONG as possible with every single technology we have, even if he's just a beating heart on a slab. Just seems to me that would be meaner.

I'm just saying if you WANT to be mean, I think it would be MEANER to keep someone barely alive indefinitely. Hooked up to a lot of machines, no quality of life whatsoever. THAT'S mean.

|
How many laws are they going to trample on to keep him alive?
Let's face it. We're dealing with two Bush hypocrites who really don't give a damn whether any of us lives or dies. They have only two goals. Power and wealth.
Any imbecile who votes for them, (or any other conservative cretin) and believes that they have the well being of the American public in mind, deserves poverty and misery.
Unfortunately, all the rest of us are getting screwed along with them,

18. Nooo! Keep all the expensive equipment going to bankrupt his "ministry" |
|
Edited on Tue Mar-29-05 10:10 PM by NAO
If Falwell is ever in Schiavo's position, I hope that he does not have a living will and that the care of his vegetative body completely exhausts all of the financial resources of his "ministries".
I would love to see "Liberty Baptist University" have to be sold and converted into a movie studio or a strip mall or a landfill or something that could be a benefit to society.
I would love to see the Moral Majority go bankrupt, but be unable to recover because of the bankruptcy reform legislation.
I would love to see the all of Falwell's brainwashing institutions be forced to have an "everything must go" sale, to try to raise money to keep Falwell's shell alive for a few more days.
After all of his organizations are completely drained and rendered completely powerless and dissolved, I would then feel like something good had been accomplished and I could be at peace with his passing.
Same thing for "Dr." James Dobson, the "Rev." Pat Robertson, all of the rest of those pompous, hypocritcal frauds pushing their Religious Reich Facist Agenda on our free, secular (by design) nation.

Count me in.
I'll even duct tape my mouth shut and stand in front of the hospital demanding that Jerry live as a vegetable until he is 90.
WTF why stop at 90? Keep him alive (with no life, no voice, no spots on cable TV forever.)
He wants to be kept alive. Guess he has a problem with meeting that maker he is always raving about. Well, he asked for it, let's give it to him. Bend over, Jerry.

|
i want to keep him *extra healthy* so he can survive DECADES at a time!
and can we feed him a nice raw vegan diet, too! just to keep him extra healthy. i'm sure he's ready and willing to see the wisdom of 'them lefty, liberal scum' dietary ways. we can swab his mouth with pureed brussel sprouts and kale!
and can i play crappy new age music with whale song in the background too! :+ i'm sure it'll keep him in a restful mental space.
and can someone bring the sisters of perpetual indulgence to hold religious vigils in his room. *busts out condom rosary*

I think they should medivac him to Texas and let the State decide if the plug should be pulled. They will likely have to use a whale lift device to get him there.
