I urge you to staff and fund a center for
21st Century Transport. Not for the current administration, but for the America we are rushing towards.

We urgently need a task force to redesign surface transit for a radical
shift in economy, from autonomy to economy. We can allow the final five miles to private transit, but we need to overcome the private model fantasies and prepare to adapt to an astronomical increase in transportation costs across the economy.


We can find an appropriate mix of surface road, rail, trolly, subway, and zero draft ferries for lower river levels in the upcoming century.
We can merge pebble bed air reactors with electric traction in a dedicated system, that could back up the grid on non peak usage hours.

What we cannot do is accomidate the current paradigm in an age of >$65 bbl oil.

The oil oligarchs east and west are deeply invested in scarcity.

I am deeply invested in conservation of a much in demand resource that will be quite problematic to replace with similar ease.
