My husband just had a vision of the rapture... |
|
Terri Schiavo, the pope and Jerry Falwell all pass away on the same day. What would the media do? They would implode upon themselves with all the excitement. What would the fundies do? Which "Christ figure" would they mourn first, second, third?
This would surely be a sign from God. Thank goodness we ahve a man of God in the White House to be our leader to guide us through this.

the media would give most attention to the pope. But you're right, it would be a Faux News trifecta.

7. Yep, a FauxNews trifecta ... Would CNN and MSNBC be far behind? |

The airwaves would be overflowing for months.
Hairshirts would be big sellers at Bloomingdales.
aaaah, the possibilities....

3. And if there really is a God, |

it will all happen on the same day that the Jackson verdict comes in.

5. This is so fricken weird |
|
I had the same exact thought today.
Here's how I see it:
If they all died on the same day, Terri initially trumps Pope who trumps Falwell.
My thinking is that Terri after death will only have a 24 hour news cycle. Media will want to milk that one to death. The pope's death can be dragged on for weeks, right up to the election of the new pope. Falwell's death would be relative small potatoes, but useful fodder for filler. Look for comparison pieces between Pope and Falwell's impact on American religious belief.

|
is to bring the slightest evil leer to my face. heh.....
They'd need an industrial amount of lens cleaning paper at the ready. Bodily fluids uncontrollably and indiscriminately flyin' all over the place ya know:evilgrin:

10. Does 'the rapture' require a special form of condom? Just wondering... |
|
...what the public health implications of it are since I have zero clue what 'rapture' is.
Thanks.

11. Rapture is like the end of the world, exactly what all the RW fundies |
|
are praying for right now.
So, with 3 "Christ figures" ready to go at anytime, it would be a media frenzy mass feeding. It would be crazy.

12. That would be a 'public health' issue, indeed. However, the vast... |
|
...majority of the folk on the planet (reality-based types) are not preoccupied with doom.
They're mostly just worried about whether they'll have something to eat.
Peace.

15. Fundies think the Pope is the anti-Christ |
|
So, he's not relevant.
Of course, they also think the UN is the anti-Christ, too.
