Here's a new term: the neofasc |
|
We've had 'neolibs', a doublethink bastardization of the much-maligned term 'liberal.'
We've had 'neocons', who are only conservative insofar as feudalism, intrigue, brutality and corruption are old ideas.
Time for a new descriptive term, the 'neofasc'; which would include the current fringe-right administration, and its gaggle of corporate benefactors. Real conservatives would thank us for giving them back their good name. They recognize, as we do, the meaning of Mussolini's definition of fascism as the perfect union of corporation and state. Many true conservatives I know are as fearful of where the country is headed as we are—for many of the same reasons.
It might also help people understand that fascism isn't merely confined to skinheads and other marginal types—it's right there, on TV every day, with funny titles under the names of its leading proponents like 'Secretary of Defense.'

1. Actually Neocon is what these guys are |
|
Conservatives like Buchanon can't stand the foreign concerns that Bush has and that's the difference. Conservatives think that the military stops at our borders and Neocons believe in intervention. A fascist would never be for tax cuts since their purpose is to empower government so Bush's belief in Capitalism and foreign policy put him squarely in the Neocon camp. He may well be the dictionary definition.

you don't think they are empowering government?
the difference is that this time they are simply looting the economy with deficit financing to pay for their pervasive expansion and consolidation of government, while placating the ignorant masses with tax cuts that tinkle down to nearly nothing for the average consumer.
fascists. it's time to lay them naked to this truth.

2. There is also the term neo-Nazi |
|
used for certain white supremist groups. It could be a fine line there.
