David Gregory--does he seem to be fair when reporting?
I watched him as he filled in for Chris Matthews tonight on Hardball and while he was interviewing Santorum he asked the question, "are you worried about Howard Dean" and when Santorum replied, "the Democrats should be more worried about Dean than me," David laughed. Maybe these are just sensitive times, but I didn't like his response. It was like another jab at Democrats.

I've always thought he was pretty fair...but now I wonder...

1. I don't know
but he seems a hell of a lot better and fairer than Tweety. I actually enjoyed Hardball for once.

3. The only one on MSN with a clue to actual reporting is KO.
Keith Oberman. Other than him, they are all just simply not doing their job.

4. He seemed early-on to resist the rightist move of the media
and tried to do his job. Within the first two years of BushCo though, all the contentiousness - ie the media's job - had pretty much disappeared in America's corporate journalism lionization of Bush. The media corporates used 9/11 to get the last of their unbroken reporters on the right-wing message. Lapel flag pins, embedded patriots-first, and Republicanly-Correct Iraq War themes meant everybody get behind the traitor Bush. Even Dan Rather became a mewling pussycat.

Helen Thomas got sent to the back of the bus. The few others with any tendency to be uncompromising like John King at CNN, David Gregory at NBC, and Terry Moran at ABC all seemed to lose their fight about that same time two years ago.

5. Why Doesn't Gregory Invite Guckert On?
The two shared the White House press room for over two years. Look at the "Gannon" videos and you'll see Gregory nearby. His silence on this story...along with others in that press room...speaks loudly to me about his credibility...zero.

He's better than Tweety, but even McLaughlin is better than Tweety these days.

6. I thought he was OK
I really like the guy---I have crappy hair like his, and other than that I think He really does a good job.

I like Lou Dobbs reporting for the past few days too. I think reporters no matter what need to ask more difficult questions.

7. He did a good job tonight better than Matthews usually does but
he's also been embedded with the Cabal for years.

Would you be fair after that kind of contamination? DimSon smiles and flirts when he calls on him -- and, no innuendo here. Bush has a very immature sense of how to be attractive to people, as anyone who has ever watched him try to "make nice" has seen.
