SO... is the pope dead and the Vatican waiting to tell the world |
|
or is he still clinging to life?

1. I really am guessing the former |
|
Just a feeling. For him to cling to life as bad as his condition was/is seems suspect. Only this morning the Vatican news said he "participated in the Mass".

13. The description of multiple organ failure |
|
means if he's not gone, it's imminent.
When they announce it is up to them.

5. Yeah, he's already gone, and they're waiting. |
|
KO on MSNBC just pointed out that the only lights on in the Vatican are those in the secretary's apartment. The papal apartments are dark.
of course, it's like three or four hours until dawn, so it's going to be a long wait for the newsies.

7. Dr. Sanjay Gupta has to sleep at least a few hours |
|
before CNN can shove him on the air to explain how death occurs after kidney failure, so they are probably accommodating the media.

I saw him on TV all yesterday talking about the autopsy, and then around 1am about the Pope, and when I got up at 8am, he was there again.
I hope he gets overtime.

Keith Olbermann was saying that he thinks it's possible the Vatican is waiting to make the announcement until daybreak in Rome. (so that the announcement gets plenty of attention.... as if it would be any other way)
