Cspan female caller from OH - self-identified "christian"
"Noone's holy but God." and "The world hate Jesus Christ but the love the pope." were two of her gems. But the world hates JC comment included these type christian wanting to like Christ (hated). Maybe that is why they all gripe about people hating Bush and them and god, etc. - they want to be hated like Christ was so they project it.

I attended a Bible Baptist church when I was younger. These fundamentalists and evangelicals do not think Catholics are Christians. Right now these people will use any other religious allies but they don't respect them unless they are "the rght kind of chrictian". You have to be more old testatment, less new testament, all revelations, abortion protesting, gay hating, power hungry warmongers who project their anger on God and Jesus Christ to be their kinda xtian.

3. I call them Paulians
When I am in a "christian mood" I read the gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The books Paul wrote are a bit more heavy handed and revalations was someone else completely.

6. a caller in believes 'the purity of scripture" was what the election was
all about. Also the Catholics and Evangelicals (last election) came together in that issue--there is concern about morality (social issues such as abortion).

5. they don't hate Jesus, they hate so-called 'Christians'
who try and shove their twisted and vacant version of Jesus down their throats.
