The Washington Post proves they now cater to the Hard Right.

Apparently, they are still fevershly attempting to atone for their role in Watergate, their motto? "never again!"...

DeLay Wants Panel to Review Role of Courts
Tom Delay's threats of retribution watered down to "concern"
Democrats Criticize His Attack on Judges
See? it's only those Godless DEMON-CATS that are causing trouble!

Another Bet on the General
In this editorial, they mildly criticize the Bush Administration for their support of a miltary dictator, and even allude to the short term "necessity" of such an alliance - butter up Condi Rice's image and simply urge the Bush Crime Syndicate to think "long term"!!! Ha Ha! It's like the WP never heard of Bob Woodward reporting this quote from George W Bush : "History? Who cares about history? We won't even be around then."

2. The have become an embarrasment to journalism...
Dana Milbank, the only WP reporter I have any respect for, must feel like Winston Smith in "1984"...

6. You've gotta be pretty desperate to read the MSM
they've been nothing but GOP whores for at least 5 years. Posting a topic like yours is akin to writing "Bush Is Stupid" or "Delay Is Corrupt". Well, duh.

9. I disagree. They must be watched and criticized whenever appropriate.
Is it better to get all our news through a particular filter or should we read a variety of pov's and draw thoughtful conclusions?

Pointing out specific incidents of bias is time well spent. It's something.

10. Huh?
Posting a critique of a BushPost article here at DU accomplishes... what, exactly?

Read the foreign press, or TomPaine ar Dawn or ZMag, or the links from Politex or Buzzflash, and get the truth instead of pointing out one of the billion or so Bush-approved messages in the MSM each week.

13. I agree with Rose..I appreciate those
who are able to stomach what the enemy is up to. I predict someday we will all be Protesting the mediawhores from cnn in Atlanta to wp in Washington D.C.

In the meantime..it's all good to keep track of their Omissions and Flagrant Pandering..it's evidence.

Thank you to all who do keep up with the fascist press..cause I sure can't do it!

8. I have news
Edited on Sat Apr-02-05 02:19 PM by depakid
This isn't news! LOL!

The Post has been one of the worst panderers for years now. It's gotten to the point where they've pretty much lost all their credibility. A lot of people I know just roll their eyes when someone bring up a Post article these days. It's kind of like with the fundies- just when you think you've seen it all, the Post will find new depths to sink to.

Katherine Graham must be rolling over in her grave-

on edit: This is not a criticism of what you wrote, btw. You're absolutely right.

12. After reading your post and the summaries of the WMD Commission Report
I have come to the conclusion that we have become a nation of sycophants, enablers, toadies and courtiers at the seat of power. With the honorable exceptions of Scott Ritter, Sy Hersh,Paul Krugman, Bob Herbert, and a few others, going against the machine has become hazardous to a person's economic and physical well being.

The biggest humiliation I can think of is that of our officer corps obeying orders at places like Abu Ghraib and others that are totally against the UCMJ and the Geneva Conventions. Like Hitler's generals, their humiliation and abject subservience is total. They have been brought low by a triad of men-- Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld-- who did not see fit to serve.
