Is anyone else disgusted at how often Bush is getting equated w/spreading
democracy lately?

It's so revolting to hear things on the corporate news like, "Hey, you have to give the man credit. He's spreading democracy in the Middle East and he's got his eye on other areas."

WTF?? He invades Iraq for WMD's (really for oil & corporate contracts), and COMPLETELY fucks up. The Iraqis don't roll over so easily. Hundreds of thousands of innocent people, including over 1500 American soldiers, are killed as a result of the Chimp's monumental blunders.........and he comes out of this smelling like a freaking rose!! Now all of a sudden he's a champion of democracy, just like the Pope.

What utter bullshit. If he was so much a champion of democracy, well what about Cuba? Christ, they're only a few miles away!

This was all about anything BUT democracy. It was about an imperialistic fascist COWARD attacking a "weak" Muslim country in the cause for greed. Bush is one lucky bastard to come out of this smelling so sweet. Disgusting. :puke:

2. I am
Fortunately, I don't think the public is really buying it, given Bush's bad poll numbers.

3. Yeah, he makes democracy sound like mayonaise or something.
Too bad mayonaise doesn't begin with an altruistic ideal, only to get obfuscatedly complex during practical implementation, leaving it partially successful and partially a mask for hidden ideologies and corruption.

If that were the case, almost everyone would say "hold the mayo".

5. but-but-but the saudis are holding elections!
but they're for local muniipalities, which is something even iraq did prior to bush's invasion. and, of course, women can't vote and the ruling "royal" family is indefinitely in power and continues to engage in killing their own people, just like saddam

but what do i know?

6. exactly!
nothing has changed since he invaded Iraq except for the destruction of that country.

Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Pakistan all have the same governments and leadership. Situation in Israel and Palestine has not changed. Sure Arafat is dead and unless he wants to take credit for his death situation is still at a stalemate. In Lebanon government will not change even when the Syrians leave (which by the way they were on track to do anyway).

So next time just tell them all of the above and ask what bush has done.
