Bush Booed at Pope's Funeral
President Bush sat on the aisle in the second row, next to his wife, Laura. Beside them were French President Jacques Chirac and his wife, Bernadette. The two presidents shook hands.

When Bush's face appeared on giant screen TVs showing the ceremony, many in the crowds outside St. Peter's Square booed and whistled.

1. I wish I was handling the cameras.
I would put just enough of a delay on the film feed, so I'd have enough time to paint a little Hitler mustache on him

13. Unfortunately, the camera operators don't get that power.
Only a director or technical director could order something like that.

And everybody on your crew (except maybe the camera ops and audio op) would need to be in on your gag.

Edited on Fri Apr-08-05 07:55 PM by dflprincess
NOT this American Catholic either - or my rather large extended family (except for my mother's brother, but the family prefers we don't talk about that.)

I only meant that Bushco claims they won the Catholic vote in America. In the last few days, I heard them say they got 56% of it, I thought it was closer to 50/50 (which is bad enough).

so....

Myself and not one single member of my CATHOLIC Family members, including my Republican ones, voted for the piece of shit named George...

So, I don't buy that he got even 50% of the Catholic vote...that's just the garbage they are trying to spoon feed to the American public as they continue to try to justify their "win"....

120. CNN is a shameless bushtapo propaganda outlet.
They have little credibility on political topics.

18 people protest outside a dying womans room, and instant CNN media SATURATION for weeks. Several hundred thousand protest the bush families war in Iraq, and it receives not a glance.

That pretty much sums up the sanity issue when it comes to being a politically neutral news outlet.

I am always so pleased when the Chimperor shows up in some country and the good people there have the taken time out of their busy lives to make protest signs and march in the streets and really show the world how much Bush is despised.

It is a special delight when their signs read something like, "we don't hate Americans, we hate Bush".

Greasecar vegetable Fuel Systems allow mechanically injected diesel vehicles to run on straight, filtered vegetable oil. Vegetable oil as fuel is a cleaner, safer and less expensive alternative to petroleum based fuel. It can be locally produced, even grown in your own back yard!

Farmers would have to be subsidized. That's not cheap, must watch out for the taxpayers and all.

The olive oil Italy has would be free, because the war on Italy would pay for itself, just like the war in Iraq.

The evidence is the extremely heavy security he surrounds himself with everywhere he goes! You can't get within miles of the guy when he's in a foreign country. Also, remember the innauguration--he knows he's hated here at home, too. Double fences to keep the people away, armored vehicles everywhere, security everywhere. I'm glad he's not resting easy, because he did this to himself.

107. I think leaders of all the religions were present as well as political
leaders. I didn't think one had to be only Catholic to attend.

Bush is suppose to be a Methodist; however, I read somewhere that since he has been in Washington, he has attended a Catholic Church (which is like night and day between the denominations). Also, Clinton's a Baptist (I think).

I do not think they were present for the religion, but for the Pope, John Paul II, the man who the World loved. (just my opinion).

72. After he has already politicized the Pope's messages to his own
personal agenda? The only shame that should be felt is by Bush and his cronies. Bush cherry picked items to say the Pope agreed with and said they both agreed with a "culture of life". What about the death penalty and the war in Iraq, both of which the Pope abhorred?
Bush should have been embarrassed to show his face in Rome.

Im just tiring of the outside world acting like we are not equally appalled as well. However, our process was designed to be deliberatively slow on purpose. We have to buy our time, and the rest of the world that understands our poilitical process needs to quit bashing us for it. The only way we are getting that prick out of here any faster is if we can catch him screwing an intern while giving a late term abortion and denying a gun permit, all at the same time. So, World, help us make his days a living hell until we can get rid of him, please.

38. Clinton already did the town, getting applause & shaking hands..
the night before, if you read yesterday's papers. I watched the entire ceremony & think they showed Bush close twice, if that much, and it looked like it was more haphazard than intentional. If he was in the second row, it didn't really register, since there were so many people there. He wasn't important yesterday. The people sitting in the front row were primarily Muslim, including. Kharzai and Khatani.

They can't get away with that, booing our pretzelnit! :spank: Why wasn't his crowd screened? Didn't they check the cars in the parking lot for dissenting bumper stickers? :grr: This was a horrific breach of security to allow people to voice their actual opinions without thorough screening.

What sort of country allows people to boo our grate pretzelnit and walk away with their arms remaining on their torsos? I hope no one in America saw this travesty, because they're not used to the truth and it could seriously harm them. Imagine, if you can, the American people being exposed to the truth without our "grate conservative filter" cleaning things up first. It could lead to Democracy, which is a very dangerous thing. Just ask those in Iraq. :patriot:

Those Italian people will pay for this. From now on I shall only eat "Freedom and Meatballs". I will gorge myself "Freedom Bread" and put "Freedom Dressing" on my salads. I have half a mind, well, so what? :patriot: :patriot: :patriot: :patriot: :patriot: :patriot:

As much as I enjoy the fact that Bush's Secret Service couldn't pick and choose the whole crowd of people from all over the world, and as much as I enjoy hearing the fact that when they showed Bush's face, the World booed at him, I do hate that it happened during John Paul's ceremony.

Of course, John Paul claimed that Bush was the Antichrist, so maybe John Paul was booing with them.

121. The article was posted in the Catholic Times years ago. It is still
Edited on Mon Apr-11-05 07:21 AM by frankly_fedup2
found at the link below. The writer, Wayne Madsen, also writes articles for Counter punch. At the end of his article, he has his email listed which should be of help to you as well.

http://www.counterpunch.org/madsen04222003.html

I might add that I had posted this a long time ago to see the response it would get. Neither time has anyone seemed concerned. Most everyone laughed . . . including myself.

I hope your "article" you are planning to right will show a little tongue and cheek regarding the subject matter. Also, where are you going to post your article? Do you have a specific blog or website? Let us know because I would like to read it.

I believe these types of articles are being written because of the lack of sincerity with Bush and his always invoking the name of God. It's hard to believe that this man is a Christian in any way. Actions speak louder than words. He has rode on God's Coattails way to long now. He's got the Religious Right in an uproar; however, they are starting to wonder why he is ignoring them now. They expected him to turn over RvW. He has more important things to take care of; and we all know it's the bottom line. He uses as he sees fit.

Please refer to PNAC for your article as well. That's very "in your face" facts that these men truly believe in. Notice all the signatures of people we see on the news everyday now; especially on FAUX News.

http://www.newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm

Also, here is another post (April 5, 2005 -- pretty recent) asking if anyone believes he is Satan???

http://jakethomson.dailykos.com/story/2005/4/5/16740/54010

Personally, it sickens me to see all these "supposed" good Christians who actually worship this man at his alter of greed, blood, and oil by continuing to give him their votes. In the end, it will be between themselves and their own God that they have to answer to. My conscious is free as I do not support anything Bush has done to this Country.

He has almost accomplished what he set out to do, and the end of this country will fall under Bush's watch. Now if that is what people believe the Antichrist will do, who am I to judge!

Hope this has helped and welcome to DU.

UPDATE: Almost forgot. If you are interested in more religious Dogma, you need to read about Saint Malachy, and his prophacies regarding the Popes. According to him, we have two more. BenedictXVII and the last one is to be named Peter as the first pope's name was Peter. I have also read where some believe that the next pope will be Peter and Benedict and Peter are one somehow??? Haven't figured that out yet; however, a very good read.

Looks like they enhanced the original article but the sentence about * causing the crowds to boo and whistle is the same.

This article says * was moved by the "majestic" (ooo-- * uses word having more than one syllable!) service. Wouldn't his saying that alienate the fundies??
