TV Alert....NBC Evening News....Bush hangs DeLay out to Dry |
|
NBC did a story about the judicial rage by the arch conservatives...showed DeLay statements, and Cornyn's statements. Then showed Frist, who said he believed the courts acted appropriately. Interviewed bush on the plane after THE funeral, and the chimp said, "I believe in an independent judiciary. I believe in checks and balances." Also, Brian Williams interviewed President Clinton about his earlier remarks regarding the pope having a mixed legacy. Clinton graciously explained that the pope had some conservatives ideas and some liberal ideas. Good interview, and was impressed that NBC and Brian Williams gave him a chance to rebut the criticism aimed at him for pope remarks. I tell you guys, NBC Evening News is looking much improved.
"I watch, so you don't have to."

1. I knew Frist was putting DeLay out with the trash when |
|
he said that about the courts acting appropriately. He was supposed to follow DeLay's lead, but instead left DeLay standing in his own garbage. Bush put the lid on the trash. Love it when the neo-cons stab each other in the back.

2. You have no idea how much |
|
I depend on you all who can still stomach this stuff and report back to us. I simply can't do it anymore. Was a total news junkie for years and went cold turkey before the election after the last 10 years of screaming at the tube. May I say THANK YOU :yourock:
Someday I hope to hear from you all that things really are turning around because I miss especially my morning news fix.
About your report. I am glad that they gave Clinton a chance to speak about what he said in light of the pounding he was getting from the "liberal" media but if Bush** really believes in an indepedent judiciary I will eat my hat and yours as well. There are no checks and balances anymore and to speak like he thinks there are is just more BS from the master BSer. He is the reason there are no checks and balances but then you already knew that. I don't suppose anyone questioned him about it? I thought not.

4. My sentiments, exactly, except for the Daily Show |
|
Jon Stewart is always great. Yesterday he showed how the pugs praise the Pope as supporting the "culture of life" and when asked about his opposition to the death penalty, the reply was that "now is not the time to talk about that..." or something like that
And then kicked Crossfire again.
Love him

7. naw, bush just saw his latest poll numbers...America loves its judges |
|
Look at all the judge shows on TV (Judge Judy is one)....look at all the TV shows which feature the judicial system prominently (Law and Order is one). I think all Americans see the courts as their last protection in any situation. What do people threaten others with the most? I'll sue! Rove, if not bush, realizes this...he won't let his pet chimp mess up by following DeLay's lead. DeLay is on his own with this effort, along with some DeLay wannabees.
I know what you mean about watching TV, but I have been a news-junkie for so many years, that it's hard to break the habit. I don't watch phaux (that's Cajun for fox) or CNN or ABC. And, I like knowing the propaganda of the kool aid drinkers. So, I'll keep watching the least offensive and let you know if there is anything of importance.

I used to listen to all the RW crap on the radio since I spend most of my days where that is the only entertainment and that is the only kind of radio around here. I used to like it because I knew what they were up to but I just can't anymore. I most of the time turn off NPR when the news comes on. As long as you can stand it I will read it and when you can't there will be someone to take your place and give your brain a well needed and earned rest.

3. NBC is another corrupt corporate news outlet |
|
GE bought and owned. Williams, Russert, Matthews, and mostly all of the underling cast we watch on their cable channels are all rightwingers...albeit not the obvious flaming type.

I get MSNBC free.. but I seldom watch it.. and then for only a minute or so .. that's all I can stand.
I urge everyone: do not pay for tv.
I wouldn't pay SBC for landline phone if there was competition... but that's the only way I can get on the internet. Oh well.
In my neck of the woods, T-W cable is worse....
