My Democraticly registered dad in Florida got a form letter from McCain.
On behalf of the Citizens Against Government Waste. I'm suprised any repubs in that group. Anyway, seems that the problems with the military shortages are - yes you guessed it - Clinton's fault. He halved the military spending by half during his 4 peaceful economically good 8 years. And now Bush is trying to build up the military but congress is taking a lot of that money for pork barrel projects.

What planet do these repubs live on? I am so tired of all these liars and cheats. I think his letter definately demands a comment and no contribution.

1. I'm getting a little tired of McCain being touted as the "good" Republican
He's a scumbag just like the rest of them.

15. It's terribly sad.
The man once showed so much integrity. He really should disassociate himself with Bush once and for all. Bush smeared him and his family during the 2000 campaign and he should have written him off right then and there.

I am stunned that he'd even give Bush, the father of lies, a second of his time.

7. Don't forget the neoconservatives backed McCain in early 2000
until it looked like Bush would win.

8. I used to think he was a good man - now I've lost all respect for him
I was not the least bit surprised or upset when he did not run with Kerry. That was expected. He is a Republican.

But to actually support Bush? After what Bush did to him in 2000? After what Bush did to the country from 2001 thru 2004?

McCain's support of Bush was despicable and showed a complete lack of moral integrity. McCain stands for nothing. He is an amoral opportunist.

He has been adored by the media for being a "maverick", but he showed that he is really just a subservient pack mule for the neo-con thugs.

It's high time for the media and the public to stop adoring McCain and start realizing that he is amoral and corrupt, even if he acts quirky while he cowers and positions himself for a future power grab.

9. I agree
I used to like him myself but now I realize that he is a tool and probably goes along with the Bush people. He's a wimp and didn't defend himself against the Bush campaign in 2000 and that's when he was pussy whiped. They knew they could get him. I'm not surprised that he didn't accept Kerry's proposal but to campaign activley for Bush? Just a slap in the face.

I used to like him... now I honestly think you could toss the entire republican party into a blender and the world would be a better place for every, single, rotten one of them.

6. Poor Bill Clinton, he'll keep getting blamed for everything....
...this administration and republican congress has screwed up for the rest of eternity. I believe the Big Dog can handle it, so why don't we just ignore these toads and focus on getting these republicans out of elected office, starting with Shrub!

10. Even twenty years down the road
Edited on Fri Apr-08-05 10:06 PM by FreedomAngel82
we're talking about everything and Clinton will STILL be blamed even if the truth is known they'll just say "we'll Clinton did it too!" or "Clinton did it first!" :grr: I feel so bad for him and Mrs. Clinton getting blamed for everything. It pisses me off so bad how Bush and the republicans NEVER get blamed for ANYTHING!!! It's been like this forever and I'm sick and tired of it.

16. As long as the Bushco drones
keep believing it, they'll keep saying it. The Repukes keep getting blamed, they just never take responsibility. My recurring question is "the buck stops where?"

17. That's when you mention Kosovo...
...Using that smaller military, Clinton stopped the atrocities of Milosevic in Kosovo with drum roll please...NO AMERICAN CASUALITIES!!!

"...accomplished this by prosecuting the most precise and lowest-collateral-damage air campaign in history-with no U.S. or allied combat casualties in 78 days of around-the-clock operations and over 38,000 combat sorties."

*See, you can do that sort of thing when you let the professionals do their jobs.

19. Something from McCain??? I live in AZ where.........
he supposedly 'represents' us. I've written to him on a number of occasions about issues I believe are relevant. Have I ever received any sort of response from him??? NO!!

Of course, everything is always Clinton's fault. That has been the mantra for the past 4+ years and it will sta that way, IMHO.

20. If McCain was really a "good Republican" he would be a DEMOCRAT
He's not a bridge builder, he's a fence straddler. My most blunt analogy would probably get my post deleted, having something to do with those who tease sexual organs for fun and profit.

And his form letter is a lie. Here is my response: Hey John, would you like to know the exact moment the last Democrat stopped taking anything you said seriously?

21. Someone wrote a LTTE in the LA Times today...
saying the deficit was Clinton's fault because he cut military spending and now Bush is having to spend more to correct this mistake. The letter writer must have received the same letter from McCain.

I was laughing as I read the letter because the logic was typical re-thug logic -- meaning there is no logic.

Out of curiosity, when does it stop being Clinton's fault?
