Has ONE news channel mentioned Bush being booed by the Pope's crowd?
I have not heard any reporting of it at all today.

Anyone else check for the story? Any reports on international news?

2. I've looked
I've only seen one story about the booing:

http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1112953574682&call_pageid=968332188492&col=968705899037&DPL=IvsNDS%2f7ChAX&tacodalogin=yes

(I've seen a sentence or two mentioning it buried in other stories). I haven't heard it mentioned on TV at all.

When Bush's face appeared on giant screen TVs showing the ceremony, many in the crowds outside St. Peter's Square booed and whistled.

and he brought it up. He was subbing for Mark Shields. So basically, PBS was the only one who mentioned it.

16. What really ticks me off
Is that we keep giving away broadcast rights to these nincompoops.

How much do you think the rights to broadcast on the radio waves reserved for Broadcast TV would go for if they were individually auctioned every year? Several Billion I'm sure.

Same with the radio stations.

I would think that with modern computers and printers, we'd have a lot more independent newspapers, why don't we? My guess is that the demand is met by the internet. We've got to protect that, because they will come for it, too.

20. No wonder he left in a hurry. Booed by the people in the streets of Rome.
And one can only guess as to the atmosphere when the fool "showed regret" at the killing of the Italian agent who secured the release of Sgrena while not getting the photo-op at the Pope's funeral.

Bush Regrets US Shooting of Italian

Why is the US MSM ignoring the news?

21. I've got blisters on my fingers!
I've searched and searched...unless some folks had cameras outside the gates...we'll have to wait for those to surface.

He's SUCH an embarrassment to us.
Smirking and mugging for the cameras....asshole.

I even watched the entire 2hr. CSPAN feed again...any booing would have been drowned out by the choir.

Once again, Chimpy was out of earshot of another "focus group" and heard nothing. Plus, he's too stupid to know what European whistling means. He'd take it as a compliment for Pickles or something. Maroon.

I checked indymedia..nothing yet. We'll have to rely on the people who were there. We KNOW it happened. It's just a matter of time before it surfaces...and then the wingers will say they meant it for Clinton anyway. Sigh. We have no free press in this country any more..not since 1996.

Whoever finds it...please post it...it would make my day to hear him being booed. But as usual he hopped onto our Air Force One with Poppy and Pickles and went straight back to Texas.

My theory on why he took Clinton with him was to use him as a shield and/or bodyguard.
Everyone hates Chimpy over there but they all love Clinton.
As long as Clinton was nearby...he was safe.

As others have said, Randi mentioned it today and said, "It never happened" along with any other news during the "pope-athon". Koppel isn't mentioning it...he's moved on to who the next pope will be.

Nope, not a MSM issue at all.

26. Meyerson is one of my favorite political analysts.
He always gets straight down to what matters for the average citizen.

It may seem frivolous at first that Bush being booed only pleases his enemies, but, the larger matter is that THIS COUNTRY'S president....OUR president....was BOOED by world citizens gathered to mourn the Pope.

We have a president who is SO hated and distrusted by the world that they would feel compelled to boo him for showing his face at the funeral of a man who worried that Bush could be the anti-Christ.

Too bad most Americans will never know the extent of the Pope's distrust of Bush since the American media protects him with unfathomable zealotry.

This is the most untruthful, deceitful media i can remember. They are all complicit in the rush to invade Iraq and now protecting Bush from having any accountability about anything. Thank God the rest of the world know true evil when they see it.

30. Last night,
a very brief mention during the Brooks and Meyerson discussion . Meyerson, the liberal of course, mentioned it in passing, in reference to the fact that the invasion and occupation in Iraq has had many negative consequences--including the deterioration of our reputation around the world. It was extraordinary, he said, that crowds would boo a US president at the pope's funeral, and that shows how passionate people's disgust over the Iraq war is.

31. Conan O'Brian mentioned it last night.
Another one of those unlikely coincidences that I even had the TV on, but it was in his opening monologue, and it was great! He then said, when Bush heard the boos, he asked "What does Boo mean in Italian?" :)

It only got mild applause from the audience, but I loved it.
