How comfortable do you think shrub was at the funeral?
Can't find my dictionary, is funeral spelled correct? Just doesn't look right. I really don't think it was shrub friendly. Maybe I'm wrong, there was a lot of talk of love and caring for people. Maybe I heard wrong, but if didn't, this was a slap to shrub. Take care of people what I was hearing. There was one shot of him when watching the funeral, shrub was uncomfortable, he knew he was out of place. The Gospel was stressed during the ceremony, not the OT.

1. You got 'funeral' exactly right & you're right also on --
-- Dubya looking miserably uncomfortable.

He looked like he could NOT wait to get his fidgety moron self out of there and back to Crawford where nobody challenges him.

2. Can Li'l Dubbie Even Comprehend Discomfort?
Edited on Fri Apr-08-05 11:46 PM by Bark Bark Bark
I'm surprised he didn't clap his hands and squeal, "Look, Mommy! The sleeping man has a big funny hat!!"

This is a man (for lack of a better word) who has been led around by the hand his entire life--even when he was in the armed forces.

If he WAS uncomfortable, it's probably because he had to go make a tinkle.

Re spelling: if you don't want to tack spellcheck onto your Mozilla or Firefox browser, there's always Dictionary.com.

3. I figure that * is 56, and his father has admonished him in advance
not to embarass him at the Pope's funeral and he'll be sitting nearby. Now THAT can't feel too comfortable.

4. I doubt he was completely happy...
... because he wasn't the center of attention. In those circumstances, I don't think he could be... he wasn't the Pope and he wasn't dead, but I don't think he had entirely figured out the context of the situation, and so still expected to be running things.... :P

6. He looked flat out MISERABLE
...in the few shots they took of him. A high mass is an ass numbing experience in any event, but what with the long (and good, if you speak Italian, with or without a charming German accent) homily, the Magnus/Santo Subito chanting, the Litany of the Saints, and the devotions by the Eastern Rites guys, that thing lasted over three hours--that is one LONG mass.

As masses go, though, I would give it an A+. Just the crowd energy was something to see. But I doubt that chimp could bear it, he probably thought he was losing what little spanish he knew, since Cardinal Ratzinger conducted most of the mass in Latin, with a dash of Italian. The only Spanish happened during one of the readings. And chimp's Spanish, I suspect, is pretty lame (unlike his brother, who really does have a fine command of the language).

He looked like he really needed a couple of tacos and a cerveza at the end of it all. The Missus and Condi looked relieved. Clinton, though, looked energized.

His discomfiture may have emanated from his proximity to Ayatullah Khatami, Mugabe and others...I suspect he got placed in the "bad boy" delegation.

Why do I have the feeling that one of the last things JP2 did before stretching out on his bed to pass on was to personally approve the seating plan for this event?

10. I'm sure he was utterly miserable
Since he's such a sensitive man, after all - why, he feels sorrow so keenly he hasn't been able to bear the pain of going to a single soldier's funeral. He carries the weight of us all.

:sarcasm:

I'm surprised he didn't bring along a pocket video game.
