Yup, it can happen. Certain people do not see it as a mere prank, but worthy of charges. Again, please think again before considering this just a silly stunt or a legitimate form of protest. No matter how much this stuff tickles your funny bone (like it does mine) or how angry and frustrated you are, this action just does not work and reflects poorly on our causes.

A man who hit Alberta Premier Ralph Klein in the face with a banana cream pie will have to go to jail for 30 days, after a judge rejected an appeal of his sentence.

1. I would think that if you are pie throwing, you already know that you can

go to jail. It's kind of like the people who lay down in the street knowing they will be arrested. Yet, they still do it to get whatever slither of media attention they can.

I love the pie throwing. It only stands to reason that its battery. I think they must know that before they decide to do it. How could they not?

2. I believe that many don't realize this

If you see some comments around here, there are some who

1) don't think this through due to being overtaken by their funny bone. (It's just a joke!)

2) don't think that they would be legally charged for something that comes out of slapstick movies (Hey, I'm not throwing a fist. It's just a pie!!!)

4. "Pie-in-the-face" is a comedic staple...

The act itself is a statement of humor, not of hatred. If you want to make a statement of hatred, you do it with a gun, not with a pie. That's why those who are calling the pie guys "terrorists" (like Coulter and David Horowitz) obviously take themselves a bit too seriously...:eyes:
