if the founding fathers watched cnn today
and saw the prominence the wedding of a british prince is given in our fourth estate, the media.

why is the wedding of prince charles even being shown as if it were some important event americans should observe?

but, then, if the founding fathers were forced to watch cnn for a day, they'd probably kill themselves.

We, this country, have, has already fought one civil war for their mistakes, and will have to fight another, and soon.

2. This is the kind of "news" item our giggling kewpie dolls at CNN are
capable of handling. This erases any need for knowledge of history, geography, relevance of issue and any other things that require you to put your mind to work.Sort of item made for the Age of Bush.

11. royalty
The church thing is all royalty to, just not hereditary. It may have been the first modern Western state, with the first modern Western law, but the economics and organization are feudal.

6. Our best living writer Gore Vidal has already administered the last
rites to the Old Republic. He will agree with you that we need to create a new Republic.

14. No new republics!
we do not need a republic, or a representative democracy of any sort. We do need a new form of government based upon a new form of economic relationships that transcends territory, and embraces the needs of humanity.

16. I agree!
But the question was not what WE would make of things, but what the Founding Fathers would. They would probably think of US political system in terms of a republic, one in the interests of the property owners, and they the property owners, in other words.

17. Kill themselves? They were anything but defeatist.
They were experienced and expert at overthrowing oppressive government. After watching for only part of the day, they would throw the nincomepoops into Boston Harbor.

Or maybe Lake Lanier, since it's closer.
