"States! You VILL cooperate with der Praesident!!!" |
|
MOUNT VERNON, Va. - States that prove they are committed to President Bush's education reform law will find federal officials more flexible in how they enforce it,> Education Secretary Margaret Spellings told educators as she promised a sensible approach to its regulations.
"States that understand this new way of doing things will be gratified," Spellings assured state school chiefs and other education leaders invited to meet Thursday at George Washington's Potomac River estate. The state officials celebrated Bush's new education law there three years ago.
"It makes sense, plain and simple," Spellings said. "Others looking for loopholes to simply take the federal funds, ignore the intent of the law and have minimal results to show for their millions of dollars in federal funds will think otherwise and be disappointed."
For example, states that cooperate with the administration — mainly by raising student test scores — will be allowed to hold many more children with disabilities to different academic standards.

Florida and Texas too? Wasn't his brother trying to change some things so they wouldn't have so many failing schools?

"Take long walk off short pier"
I think the school admins/teachers are getting tired of being told how to do their job by yoyos who have never stepped into a public school classroom. Wonder how many of BushCo actually went to public schools?
Out of the bubble you idiots!

Disgraceful political hack. She knows nothing about education, yet wrote the horrid Nickel-B. I detest this wretched excuse for an Education Secretary.

They sure do stick to their principles.
They don't believe in wasting US resources on nation buliding in other countries.
They don't believe in fiscal irresponsiblity, and they loathe deficit spending.
They stand for states' rights, and don't trust the Government.
They believe in individual liberties, and would never let the government trample on someones constitutional rights.
Some heavy :sarcasm:
