Finally. an alternative view out of Crawford makes the Mainstream MSM.
Some of you know, many probably not, Ariel was in Crawford, what you don't know is what else was going on. Here are just a few links to bring you all up to date. I just wanted to let you all know there are a few "Texans" standing proud!

Pictures and an account of what transpired in Crawford on Sunday.

An 800 foot banner with every resolution from the UN about Israel. 800 ft banner weighing more than 300 lbs was paraded through downtown Crawford on Sunday afternoon.

3. Texas Libs are not heros, nor do any of them hold themselves to be.
Just simply soldiers on the front line. Thank you for your support.

We try & there are a few of us libs, progressive Dem's, socialists, commies, whatever you want to call us. There are a few, just a few that stand up in the face of adversity, I'm proud to know them.

19. Hey I've lived all over out west and Texas is one of the toughest states
to be on the frontlines in as a prog of any stripe, especially outside of the metro areas. Also I would not expect any of you to hold yourselves out as heros, but be that as it may I have much love and respect for my fellow actives in the redder areas of the country.

I live in a very red town in NY. County is very blue as well... but here in town I watch what I say in my yard, shopping, eating out, and really I'm not that paranoid just realistic about troubles that could come my way. I think of those of us in battles to get their states just a little closer to deep purple and I'm proud. So thank you and stay active!

17. Austin's very own R Jenson was there. I've been running into and
supporting him for a few years now. Thank heavens he has "tenure" and can speak out! If I didn't already have the love of my life, well, what can I say?

5. Thank you for posting this.
I love seeing hardworking, honest Texans out spreading the word.

That was a remarkable banner they had there! What a wonderful way to make a point. :)

7. The banner was over 800 ft long and weighed more than 300lbs.
As they marched it through Crawford it stretched the length of the town of Crawford. It was an amazing display of strength and solidarity. Johnnie and Hadi are to be commended for making it happen. Kudos most of all to Johnnie Wolf and the Crawford Peace House and everyone involved. Please pass it on.

Go to San Francisco Chronicle for today's op/ed from Hadi J.

Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process
Bumps on the 'road'
It's the settlements

Hadi Jawad

Tuesday, April 12, 2005

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called on President George W.
Bush Monday at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, to discuss what the
White House has announced as "prospects for Middle East peace."

Because the two leaders merely danced around the issue of ending the
occupation of lands in the West Bank held by Israel, prospects for
Middle East peace will continue to be elusive. Complete Israeli
withdrawal from occupied territories may not be a panacea -- and
other difficult issues will have to be negotiated and resolved -- but
without Israel's pullback to internationally recognized borders of
1967, the peace process many never get any traction.

I'm proud to be a Lone Star Independent Texan/Coloradan. My grandfather & grandmother grew up in the Pan Handle of Texas and my grandfather actually killed a man in his day for stealing a horse.

What do we do now?

11. This is what I thought was interesting
and it rung true.

<If matters come down to a staring contest between Bush and Sharon, Bush must not blink. Otherwise, as with previous attempts for peace in the Holy Land, the road map to peace will lead to another dead end.>

It was from the first link. I agree because if you just try to get peace for that one land what about surrounding countries? They'd be pissed that they're getting ignored.
