There is some story on ABC news about whats on the presidents iPod. The chode is too stoopid to fill it himself so he has staffers do it.
(he doesn't understand the computer... or the internets)

12. No he was not right
Actually he said there were rumors going around the internets, and I doubt that Internet2 wasted its highspeed capabilities discussing this monkey.

4. Internet2
Is a new version of the Internet that is used by universities and U.S. gov for research and education about IT and to try new ideas.

If you did tech-support, Internets will be familiar.

10. No
http://www.internet2.edu/

Intranet is not the Internet. An intranet is a network separated from the Internet. Imagine a network at your job were the PCs are connected to each other. That is a intranet while multiple networks connected to each other is the Internet.

11. Let me rephrase my question...
I’m familiar with government agency Intranet which is accessible only by agency networked computers. Is Intranet2 similar to Intranet in that your computer must be connected to the Internet2 network to access it, or can any computer access it online?

13. No
Intranet is a separate network from the Interent.

Internet is simply a mathmatical protocol that allows data to cross networks. An intranet is simply networked computers that could be accessed from the outside throught the Internet 1 or 2.

15. oops... Post 11 - "Intranet2" - I meant to say "Internet2"
From my limited non-IT understanding, an agency's Intranet can't be accessed from the outside... I can't log on from home... well, not unless an IT person works their abracadabra magic in my home.

If you feel like tearing your hair out right about now because I'm not understanding this, please accept my apology. I'm not blonde, but when you talk about mathematical protocol, my brunette head only grasps the cable going into the wall & to the great beyond. Perhaps I should consider going blonde?

Anyway, thanks for trying.:hi:

5. Thank GORE he 'INVENTED' the INTERNET's! ;->
the military sucks up most of the bandwidth though...

SOUTH KOREA
Broadband Wonderland]

Even those numbers don't do justice to the communications advantage Koreans enjoy over Americans; bit for bit and dollar for Korean won, ordinary households in Korea get faster Internet connections than all but the biggest U.S. businesses. Here in Seoul and in other large cities like Busan, broadband is as basic a utility as water or electricity and touches its citizens' lives in ways that are barely imaginable...

14. Its also a spam haven since most of the computers
attached to that high speed links are unprotected and inadequately administered.

I block ALL traffic from KR, CN, and South America on the routers I run. Single largest bite you can take out of spam with minimal if any false positives
