God, the AP is ridiculous. And this is the Liberal Media.
Poll Shows Mixed Views on Gays in Sports

NEW YORK - A majority of people believe there is nothing wrong with openly gay male athletes participating in sports, but nearly 24 percent think an openly gay athlete would hurt their team, according to an NBC/USA Network poll.

So 86% believe gays should be in sports--but only 76% believe that it would help their team. Oh, I see! That's clearly an even split. That clearly doesn't deserve the headline: "Poll: US in overwhelming support of gays in sports."

Oh, wait, there's more:
In another mixed result from the poll, 79 percent of respondents agreed Americans are more accepting of gays in sports today than they were 20 years ago

WTF? Christ. If it were a 95% liberal - 5% conservative poll, it would be "Mixed Results" or "Americans Divided." If it were a 51% conservative - 49% liberal poll, it would be "Americans in favor of" or "Overwhelming support for" or "GOP has mandate for."

:banghead:

1. Perhaps this is a preemptive strategy to spin
Shrub's current and future poll numbers.

If 80-20 is mixed, 70-30 is about even.

2. And of course, when his numbers are 60-40 against,
he's "incredibly popular."

6. duh. Same people who said an 80-20 on Schiavo represented
a "deeply divided nation." :puke:

10. Unfortunately, those 20% did 80% of the screaming
and so it balances out, doesn't it?

11. That's what the 2% is apparently worried about
that the players will start going out on Man Dates.

12. Hey, they saw what happened with Bush's man-date!
The 8-inch Bulldog and the SS flameout. Nobody wants their team to have a record like Bush's post-election one.
