"U.S.: Pay Gap Widens Between CEOs and Workers"
WASHINGTON, D.C., Apr 12 (OneWorld) - The chief executives of major U.S. corporations enjoyed double-digit pay raises last year, adding to a record of ''jaw-dropping'' compensation largely undisturbed by recent years' falling profits and share prices and a wave of scandals involving management chicanery, the country's leading labor federation said in a new survey.

7. When does the revolution against corporate greed start?
This is what is fueling the rest of our sickness.

9. As soon as we kick the consumerism habit. (And that includes me,
I buy more unnecessary junk. *sigh*)

10. I already have, out of necessity.
I only buy what is absolutely necessary, and spend the extra money on the arts, travel, etc.

8. The CEO of the company I worked for in Idaho
vowed not to take a salary until the market improved and the company returned to profitability. (I think they are once again profitable, but I don't work there any more.)

Small consolation to the average employee, though. I didn't see any salary increases for almost three and a half years--even when the company was turning a profit!--but after he stopped getting paid his annual salary he still cashed in millions of dollars in stock options (in the high teens or low twenties, I don't remember which).

Yeah. Going without his salary was such a hardship. :eyes:

And damn it, it was the jackassery of him and his management team that wound up putting the company in that state in the first place. He would've had to have been a complete prick not to forego his salary!

11. Been this way for 25 years, the fact the MSM is now reporting it is odd.
