3. You're not the only one. |

It's tempting to use their own weapon against them, but this weapon is like depleted uranium -- creates a danger for everyone and for years to come.
Pointing out hypocrisy is good but increasing censorship is a bad way to do it.

8. Still, I don't want to strengthen the Parent's TV Counsil. |
|
They've got way too much influence. Even if Rush changes his mind I don't think these guys will go away.

There's something to be said for consistency. I think a lot of people around here forget that.

7. It's not a matter of Censorship - If the rules are written, then the rules |
|
should be applied equally.
Pigbutt broke the rules that even Howard Stern bleeps. He should pay at least as many.
Question - how many stations play Rush? How many bleeped out the offending words? This could be a cash cow for the FCC, if it were not the strong-arm for the Repukes.

9. Yes, but by trying to get the FCC to enforce these laws, you are |
|
basically endorsing them. And endorsing the law, making it look popular, is not going to help stop such laws from being tightened.
If you think the FCC is too stringent (as I do) it is wrong to try to get laws that you think are wrong to be enforced just because you don't like Rush.
For example, I have always disagreed with Rush's opinions that drug laws should be strictly enforced with jail time, not rehab. So, now, I'm not going to scream that Rush should be sent to jail for his drug problems because I disagree with the laws. And if I disagree with the letter of the law, it is hypocrisy to want the law enforced in this case just because I don't like the offender.
Sure Rush is a hateful, evil bastard, but I'm not going to endorse any means necessary just to bring him down, the bigger picture is far more important that him.
