4. The recent drop really isn't all that bad.
10% moves in the market are as common as Bush making stupid comments. Well, not quite that often, but they happen usually 2-3 times a year and in the case of 2002 about 8 times.

12. I was wrong, but 2% is hardly a big deal.
I was off by a day or two. Big damn deal. The same thing happened in 2002 when I was off by a few days in calling the bottom and a few hundred points, but it happened and then the market went from 7200 to 10000 in a year and a half.

6. It's clearly capitulation selling.
People are throwing everything out regardless just because they have gotten burned. Technicals point to an oversold situation. Badly oversold. I would expect a 200+ point bounce next week and continuing on a couple more weeks after that.

8. Do you think all of the tax selling has been done, there is usually
a lot of selling around the 15th to pay taxes. Believe this was the worst for two years so beside the tax thing there are a lot of other things wrong with this wonderful Shrub economy.

9. "Lowest Dow since Nov. 2"
That was in a MSM article about this. Seems rather poetic. Made a light bulb go off, maybe the irrational exuberance (that is, half-hearted attempt to go somewhere) since Nov. 2 was the usual post-election bounce and even that isn't working now that the Emperor is so undeniably bad.

11. And this is why privatizing Social Security is such a bad, bad idea.
Casting one's future to the manifold spikes and troughs -- and yes, crashes -- of the stock market is pure folly.

Today's market, er, "correction" (translation: ass-dive) will be soft-pedaled by BushCo, you can count on it.
