Twentieth Century Men dealing with twentyfirst century problems.
That, in my opinion is the problem the world faces. As more and more people the world over, especially young people, realize how interconnected their lives are becoming, we have old men like Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush, whose world view has been formed by their twentieth century experience continue to behave with a sense of entitlement that will not be tolerated by the new generations. We need to be rid of this mindset so that the new century does not turn out to be as bloody or even bloodier than the century past.

Having these type of men still in power is going to lose us an opportunity to transform mankind from permanent warfare states to one of peaceful coexistence where improving living standards will bring worldwide prosperity based on peaceful pursuits.Anybody harboring illusions about one's own superiority or that of his nation will become an anachronism.

This is why the dumbing down of America by the religious zealots threatens to impede our progress toward the world we can see forming before us, led by the likes of China, India , Brazil and other Latin countries. It would require us to shed illusions of our uniqueness, whether political, econoimic or technological.Only a new generation of leadership can accomplish that.

1. Bingo! You got it!
The 'future shock' that Toffler predicted.

They have no idea how to cope with the 21st century.

2. I so agree! We should not be alienating other
countries, or starting wars! The Bush cabal has got to go because they'll never get a clue but will destroy us in the process.

3. Thank God for men like
Representative Stephanie Tubbs-Jones of Ohio and Senator Barbara Boxer of California. They're the kind of mankind we need!
