The filibuster decides if the elections are rigged |
|
I think the filibuster action will pretty much settle the matter as to if the elections are rigged or not.
If the republicans don't terminate the filibuster then it's likely they expect to be a minority again in the future and don't want to destroy the only option they may have.
However, if the republicans do indeed kill the filibuster it will be a sure sign the elections are rigged and they know they won't ever be leaving majority status.
It will be very interesting to see what happens.

1. I look at it another way around |
|
they will kill it, because they know the elections are rigged.
They don't give a flying fuck.
Public opinion is against them, just like it was against interferring with the Schiavo case.
They will do what they want to do, and don't give a shit about public opinion. They know they can count on Diebold to keep their seats.

They are so high on power and think they'll always have the elections in the bag with Diebold. Right now it's up to us to get rid of the machines.

4. That's a very good thought |
|
we shall see. It would also mean Republicans like John McCain are oblivious to it all.

5. that is right, McCain and Dole have too much integrity to |
|
be let in on the secret.
Even though it's not really a secret.

Likely they aren't far-right enough to be of importance. Wouldn't be surprised if they rigged a primary against them later on. They already screwed McCain over once.

7. WJ on CSPAN this morning |
|
About six consecutive callers phoned in on Republican line, all of whom said that the filibuster rule should be changed because them durned Democrats are denying perfectly qualified judges their right to an up-or-down vote blah blah blah. One woman from Georgia even suggested, apparently seriously, that the Republicans should set up a bunch of rules that only go into effect if the Democrats retake the majority--in essence, guaranteeing that even a 99:1 Dem:Repug ratio would still ensure a Republican majority.
Madness!
But here's what I perceive: When (if?) the Dems eventually retake the majority following the Republicans' use of the nukular option, Republicans will accuse the Democrats of hypocrisy if the Democrats don't reverse the filibuster rule to its now-current format.
Of course, the Repugs love to bitch about how Byrd himself changed the filibuster rules, so that presents a nice preemptive strategy: Dems should suggest that Repugs go ahead and change the filibuster rule back to what it was pre-Byrd.

8. That logic would work for them until the Dems |
|
out hack them at their own sport. They have to be reminded that any hole in the system is a hole that both sides can use to their own advantage.

10. Totally paper. No computers. How can anyone expect honesty from |
|
Republican owned voting machine companies. Talk it up. It's the only way back to democracy. Your vote - the most precious thing you own - you can take it back from the thieves without stealing...by using paper only....and not letting M$M corporations call the count. We need our own media exit poll feed and paper.
VOTING IS LOCAL. Say no to The United Corporations of America.
