Need some help
Strange question, working on a paper...how would you describe modern liberalism and conservatism. Please no negative remarks on this one, what would you consider the tenants of both. I know them but I am having trouble trying to word it right.

3. Liberals want equality, money for educating out children, Health care
for all people, taking care of the poor and needy, conserving the environment, protecting freedom of speech and not to be dominated by other people's religions and equality for all people, not just white heterosexuals.

Conservatives want all of us to pray to Jesus.

Actually that is really right wing nuts. They also want less taxes, not too concerned about environmental issues, don't want to help the needy, (actually got an email comparing the ant, (Conservative) who worked all summer so he could have food for the winter while the grasshopper( just played around and expected to be taken care of when winter came). They usually believe in the death penalty and war is OK with them. They consider themselves more patriotic but in my opinion they are not. Another unfunny joke was about Jesus healing the conservative and the libertarian but the democrat did not want to be healed because he was on disability. They think liberals are lazy. We, (Democrats) are wussies to an extent but I think that is because we are a more pacifist group.

4. If you have the time, Read
George Lakoff's: Don't Think of an Elephant
It outlines the basic Family Models of both.

If the paper is due tomorrow go here:

6. From Roget's Thesaurus:
Liberal: tolerant, generous, enlightened, broadminded, charitable

Conservative: stingy, miserly, narrow-minded, reactionary, bigoted,
predjudiced, biased

Apply as needed, they really do fit.
