Is it irrational for me to have started freaking out over judicial picks?
After reading an article I posted from the NYT magazine, I'm feeling really sick about the kinds of people that will be appointed to the judiciary...

Mainly the SC of course, but all courts...

I'm already thinking that in the next ten years, we'll see several laws we take for granted now (environmental, economic, and civil liberties), repealed - clean air act, endagered species, minimum wage laws, maximum hour laws...

The consequences will last for decades.

1. republican judges already dominate the judicial branch
But *most* of them are yet still principaled. If the Dems don't grow some backbone, we are going to be seeing right-wing extremists dominating the courts, and that will be the downfall of our once great country.

2. I don't think you're being irrational
not after reading that whole article. To say that the article is alarming is putting it too mildly...

Mr. Fujiyama, EVERY single law you mentioned is HISTORY, up here in the year 2005! THEY ARE ALL JUST MEMORIES!

B*SH never actually 'repealed' ANY of them...

He just pretended they weren't there!

(While he GUTTED the agencies empowered to ENFORCE them,
and appointed his fellow fascists to oversee the underbudgeted, impotent, skeletal remains!)

Our most VITAL Federal Agencies are NOW nothing but hollow shells issueing occasional press-releases...PUPPETS on the grandest scale UNimaginable!

Sincerely,
Dick
